Just saw the RFK, jr ad. Terrifying to think that someone might support him because of his name.
His family does not support him.

(12,374 posts)The Robert F. Kennedy presidential campaign began on March 16, 1968, when Robert Francis Kennedy, a United States Senator from New York, mounted an unlikely challenge to incumbent Democratic United States President Lyndon B. Johnson.

(12,374 posts)chagrin of McCarthy supporters. It was a crazy time with the war lingering on. McCarthy supporters eventually got behind Kennedy because getting us out of Vietnam was more important than hurt freelings.

(32,319 posts)was the ad paid for in rubles or yuans?
Smart bastards made jr. look like he was a continuation of his family members back in the 60's.
Jr. is nothing like those Kennedys.

I wasn't watching but a friend called me spitting tacks over it. It sounds awful.

(114,615 posts)which had one of the highest vax rates in the country, so even if they still recognize the name, they're not taking any of his shitty advice.
Plus, he's flopped around and switched parties because Democrats weren't fools and supporting him wholeheartedly.
Also, remember the people who knew his dad by name, track record and reputation are getting a little thin on the ground these days. I can't see many folks under 50 being particularly dazzled by the Kennedy name.
Mostly, he'll get votes from protest voters. Even at that, I don't see him doing all that much damage. TFG is just too big a dick, people will vote for the old guy to make sure he doesn't get in.

(1,026 posts)A lot of the older boomers who were hippies in the 60s or just liberals are now Trump supporters. Many have no reasoning skills. They make decisions on their feel-feels!!!
Could backfire and yank from the MAGAs!!!

(3,768 posts)On this forum. Which is ALL of you. But this Kennedy ad does ZERO for him with young and independent voters. They dont care. To them, its old. Like its from the 1800s. They have no clue about his father and uncle. Worst superbowl commercial ever. I liked the Jesus ones.
