Remember When I Posted They Let Them Get Away With It
Here is another example of someone who has openly committed a crime for all to see. I have listed the statute that he violated.
Where is the investigation into Clarence Thomas? Sally Yates would make a fantastic US AG. Maybe Garland should appoint a special prosecutor so as to not seem partisan?
5 U.S.C. § 13101(14)
The forms require a certification that the information provided by the filer is accurate, true and complete to the best of my knowledge.
ProPublica has revealed that over two decades Harlan Crow, Charles and David Koch, the Koch network, Wayne Huizenga, David Sokol, and Paul Novelly provided Thomas with 38 vacations, 26 private jet flights, eight flights by helicopter, a dozen VIP passes to sporting events, attendance as a guest at the exclusive Bohemian Club, travel on a private jet to and lodging at Koch network summits at resorts in California tuition for his nephew in a private school, and a $267,000 loan used to purchase a luxury recreational vehicle. Crow even purchased the home in which Thomass mother lived and then allowed her to live there rent-free. Thomas reported none of this.
Thomas claimed that his failure to report the gifts was due to bad advice from as of yet unidentified colleagues or advisers. That excuse is hard to square with the plain language of the statute. There is not much to argue about in the meaning of gift.
Oh and that statute, requires Thomas to report gifts that exceed $250.00. I think that DOJ would have a case to investigate Clarence.
Winston Churchill said it, paraphrasing: The problem wasn't just that Hitler committed horrible crimes against humanity, the problem was that decent people stood back and allowed him to do it.
Clarence Thomas and his wife should not be compared to Hitler, but they are involved in an insurrection against the United States that if successful would put a Hitler-like figure into power.
We can do more than just vote them out, we can prosecute them.
Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo have been subpoenaed by a Senate committee and are defying said subpoena. What should we do, other than nothing?
to see that justice is done ?
My state is red so a call to my representatives is wasted time.
"While justices can be accused, tried and even found guilty of any crime, they won't lose their Supreme Court seat because of any sentence."
"The only way a justice on the Supreme Court can be removed is by impeachment and subsequent conviction."
Yes, Clarence and his wife should be investigated by a special counsel. And if found to have violated any laws, they should be prosecuted.
A SC justice can be arrested, convicted and sentenced, even for murder, but he can only be removed from office by impeachment.
But the process is slow. Watergate took three years, just like this onr
It was two years from the break in to the first convictions of senior Nixon staff and 2 years to his resignation. We are at the 3 year anniversary of Jan 6.
about this for those of us who were around for that. Seeing the justice system work so quickly and top advisors in prison was satisfying. And just a short time later to watch Reagan and HW throw it all away.
Or if she and he want a deal, he has to resign for her to get any consideration.
This is exactly how the repugs play hardball.

If you have the BUCKS you can appeal indefinitely. Supreme court has lifetime appt. circuit courts can DELAY decisions whenever they want. My eyes have been opened to our courts, that's for sure. Our courts are better than most, BUT still have major problems for the lower income common citizens!
Nor do I expect the IRS to do a damn thing about him and his wife either.
Everybody is equal under the law is B.S..
Special prosecutor for what??? it is time for Garland to do his damn job without subcontracting out to random people. Stop with the special prosecutors! He failed to keep the last SP in check and created a horrible political mess, which SPs are supposed to avoid. Do! Your! Job! Garland!
