AND NOW...we reset the clock and start all over again.

There will be a Republican Primary in June. There will likely be a change in the District lines. Suozzi will run again in November as an incumbent.

but it contributes more so in states that actually banned abortions. My take is the people are on to the con man, The Emperor has no clothes.

10. The most likely alternatives would take them away from a solidly GOP district, no?

I know nothing about NY, but my understanding of the last map Dems tried to pass (and was thrown out by the courts) is that even in a bad year, Dems would have dominated in the overall NY congressional delegation. Am I mistaken?

11. Democrats didn't lose their seats because of redistricting.

Biden won the five districts the Republicans picked up in 2022.

12. Sure, but I imagine Biden over performed Democrats because anti Trump Republicans split their votes

November appears like it may have the opposite effect regardless of lines. If we get a new map, I really cannot imagine Democrats not getting back all five (well four now) districts in November.

In a high-stakes decision, the New York Court of Appeals ruled 4-3 on Tuesday that the state must pass a new congressional map for 2024, finding in Democratic plaintiffs' favor that the process that led to the current court-drawn map's adoption in 2022 failed to adhere to state constitutional reforms passed by voters in 2014. The decision is a huge win for Democrats because it could ultimately allow the overwhelmingly Democratic legislature in Albany to draw a new gerrymander, putting up to six Republican-held seats in even deeper danger.

Everyone knows that if not for the redistricting debacle in New York, Democrats would have probably won the House in 2022.
