I was watching a story on the East Coast snowstorm this morning.....

...... Meanwhile here in the Detroit metro area there is absolutely no snow to be found and no ice on the Detroit River. We're more than 20 inches below our average seasonal snowfall total. We've had like 2 weeks of winter this winter.

Far from the 6-10 they forecast, causing everything to shutdown and be canceled ahead of it.

Nothing burger.

I feel your pain though. I enjoy winter for a few weeks.

Growing up in NE FL, we averaged 13 days a year of freezing temps and 3 days when it would get down to the teens. We haven't had temps in the teens in 20 years or more, and our freezing days are only 2, so far this year. Bad for us! We are going to be killed by bugs when the weather gets warmer. Guess it's a good thing I got a mosquito/bug zapper for Christmas so I can still smoke pot on the patio and not have to reply on vapes for the house.

Way below our average and that was despite a 10 day period where we got 32 inches.

Craziest mild Winter ever. It was almost 60 on Xmas day. It was 61 a few days ago. No severe weather in sight. March is almost here.

My daughter in Manhattan and my sister out in the wilds of northern Noo Joisy say it keeps coming down like white Oobleck.

Here in Central Europe, it's just cold and rainy, just like I hate it! My younger daughter has the right idea. She took this week off to go skiing in St. Moritz, Switzerland. She sent me a photo, and there was a LOT of snow up in the Swiss Alps. Next month, she and her S.O. are going to visit his eldest son, who is spending a year at my daughter's old school on the Big Island, but this time, they are finally going to visit Kaua'i. This is one of the few places my wife and have been where they have not. That changes next month. I'll have to think of something more exotic next time. North Dakota, maybe.

7. The "big snowstorm" turned out to be a few inches. Though it was our first snowstorm in 2 years.

I remember (I know, I know how that sounds) when it would start snowing in December here and go through March.

Now we get a couple of inches every few years.

In fact we had bare ground for nearly the past month, and have had 7 days of 50 degrees or better so far this year; 4 in January, and 3 so far in February.
Just for prospective, our normal daytime high for January is 35, and the average doesn't reach 40 degrees until the end of February.
It's been pretty much a non-winter here.

I am hopeful I can make it to my car. Once in the car I can defrost everything and back out of my cleared driveway. I need to get a de-icer for my front walk and the deck on the side of the house. I should have been more prepared!
