I see nothing so far that warrants Willis stepping down.

(3,016 posts)If she's found to have lied about the relationnship she could be removed which will tank the whole case.
If she resigns from the case before that, her team can continue.

(3,925 posts)What is the basis for your belief that removal would "tank the whole case"?
Willis' behavior does not change the facts, the evidence, the nature of the charges.
Why would it "tank the whole case"?

(3,016 posts)"If Trump and his co-defendants succeed in disqualifying Willis, some inside the DAs office fear it could derail the entire case, according to multiple sources familiar with their thinking. The sprawling racketeering case still has no trial date, and Willis and her team are keenly aware that the window to go to trial before the 2024 election is rapidly shrinking."
"Its unclear if another prosecutor in Georgia would even be inclined to take up the case from Willis, given its political and legal challenges."
"If McAfee decides to grant the co-defendants motions and remove Willis from prosecuting the sprawling RICO case, under Georgia law the case would automatically be re-assigned to the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia, a bipartisan collaboration of six district attorneys and three solicitors general from across the state."
It's my understanding that if Willis steps down voluntarily, the case can continue without being reassigned.

(6,017 posts)I disagree, i think there is one indisputable issue that is front and center now. It is the dispute in start dates.
Mr. Wade has handled himself as well as can be expected if the facts are not on his side. If they are, he's been eloquent in both his testimony and his desire to protect Ms. Willis, not for secrecy, but gor privacy.
I think it's not going well at all.

(15,315 posts)This is just a smear job intended to work in the "court of public opinion." Having a "relationship" with a co-worker has no bearing on a court case that deals solely with the facts of the case. If there were a relationship between those in adversarial roles in the case, that would be something. But this is just a smear job.
What creates the appropriately quote enclosed "cover-up" is not the accusation, it's the response. Either way, in today's world, this is reality and if a lawyer helped them craft their filings, then they better be accurate, and not just technically.
What scares me, is that if they lied, it proves that power creates this arrogance and perception of invincibility is not limited to pervert pastors of politicians lol.
If you are accused of anything, you will have to choose a gight or flight response and Bill Clinton was a perfect example of the flight response. What he did with his lawyers advice only showed how the rich and powerful get to dance around the truth while us regular people get beaten down by it.

(28,446 posts)Why is it an issue what he spent his salary on? Plane tickets arent illegal. Having a relationship isnt illegal.
People at work hook up sometimes. If its consensual, whats the problem?

(3,016 posts)They said it didn't start until after the RICO case started. Roman's lawyer is trying to prove that the relationship pre-existed the case.

(53,388 posts)if Willis gave him a job with a salary of $90k and he spent $45k on gifts for her, then how is that different from her giving him a job for $90k and him kicking back $45k? That is the theory of the defense's case.

I don't always dislike hearing from him--sometimes the straight-arrow, just-the-facts manner is reassuring. But, this topic seemingly reveals--or at least suggests-- more about him than I'd wanted to know.
