Stuck smack in the middle of downtown Idontgetitville

Can someone please point me in the direction of a clear, understandable explanation of how something that has absolutely no bearing on Trump's guilt or innocence can essentially delay or even end the case against him?

I watched the talking heads on MSNBC for a few minutes trying to explain why Willis should be removed. Confirmed my belief that Trump is the reason that there is a hearing, not the law.

6. My understanding is that they must prove a conflict of interest to remove Fanni from the case.

That could mean material gain to herself or associates as a result of trying the case, or it could mean a personal grudge or relationship with the defendant.

From what I have seen, they are not effectively demonstrating such a conflict.

They are fishing for nuggets they can use against her and trying to besmirch her character and reputation.

I don't think any ruling in this case would stop the prosecution, but if Willis and Wade are removed, it could mean a long delay in order for a new team to come in and start over.
