Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! Yoooooooooooooooooooooo!!! What’s up, Aspen, how you guys doing? Whew, we made it! We are here! First off, I want to say congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on winning their second Super Bowl in a row, and Taylor Swift for winning her first Super Bowl ever! I didn’t even know she was playing! So you might be asking yourself, what the fuck happened the last two weeks? Well, good sir or madam, I will explain. We had been planning a full upgrade of the Top 10 home server for some time now. Unfortunately all the parts we purchased arrived a bit later than we had planned. And the rebuild took way longer than we had originally anticipated. What started as a 1 hour project turned into a 4 hour project, and then into a 4 day project which meant that something got fucked up that we hadn’t anticipated. And of course there were hiccups which required us to take the whole thing to the good folks at nearby Micro Center, which they fixed it good for us. And then on top of that, we had some hiccups with the operating system which required us to purchase a new license, and let’s just say that everything that could go wrong with this operation has, but we’re back now and ready to hit the ground running! And yes this also prevented us from bringing you episode 6 of Holy Shit: The Sunday Sermons, and we do assure you, my friends, that is coming! We just don’t know when. OK that’s enough of the intro, we have a lot of idiocy to get to. But first the Daily Show is back and Jordan Klepper attempts to solve the border crisis:
So where do we begin this week? In the number one slot this week is the GOP (1) and their continuing onslaught of the southern border with Mexico, and don’t think that this feud isn’t going away any time soon. And the idiots at the border convoy are really proving to be quite the caliber of person that Trump is attracting. In the second slot is Tucker Carlson (2). So the former Fox News and current Twitter / X anchor is going to Moscow to interview Vladimir Putin, because I guess the GOP is now cutting out the middle man and getting their marching orders directly from the Moscow Mad Man himself! In the third slot this week is the MAGA House. So that current shit show that is going on at the Capitol that we used to call the House Of Representatives and currently refer to as a MAGA clown show, is proving that the current GOP implosion that we’re witnessing is nothing short of spectacular. Who needs butter because I’m going to have some fun watching heads literally explode! In the number 4 slot this week is Gina Carano (4). Yes, you know the former “star” (?) of Deadpool that sued Disney because of the insane things she said on social media is back, and you know the age old MAGA adage – if you can’t beat ‘em, sue ‘em! Where’s Saul when you need him? In the number 6 slot this week is of course our weekly visit to the Holy Church Of The Top 10 in “Holy Shit” (6) and this week now that the dust has settled from the Big Game, we’re going to talk about Hobby Lobby’s attempt to proselytize during the commercials with their controversial “He Gets Us” series of advertisements. Yeah no he doesn’t. Speaking of not getting things, in the number 7 slot this week, we’ve got a new Beating A Dead Horse (7) and in light of the tragic passing of country music legend Toby Keith, we thought we’d revisit the man who was single handedly responsible for polarizing and politicizing the genre, and his on again off again feud with the Dixie Chicks. Yeah remember the good ol’ days of conservative idiocy? Tetridge Farm remembers! In the number 8 slot this week is of course our weekly venture into the never ending world of online tin foil hat nuttery with Conspiracy Corner (8) and this week – was the Super Bowl rigged? Even before it started, there were TONS of theories out there suggesting that the Super Bowl was fixed based on the color of the logo, and it’s every bit as weird as you might imagine! In the number 9 (NEIN!!!) slot this week, we have a new edition of “I Need A Drink” (9) and why are we not in the least bit surprised that Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David’s on air altercation with Elmo on “The View” was something we’d absolutely predicted that he would do? And it’s totally on brand for him! Finally this week it’s time for part 2 of our 4 part series Road To The Primaries! And this week with Trump off of the ballot in Nevada, it seems like nobody really gives a shit about the challengers! I’m of course talking about how Nikki Haley basically got laughed out of the ballot box. And to cap things off, we have live music from the legendary Swedish punk group The Hives joining us! In case you haven’t guessed, Texas governor Greg Abbott is a frequent contributor to this program and much of it has to do with the ongoing insanity at the United States – Mexico border. And I think it’s safe to say that our opinion on Gov. Abbott is very well known. He’s an evil, condescending, inhuman, murderous psychopathic monster who should be answering to the Hague and doing jail time for his crimes at the border. And of course we can’t blame the problem without blaming the source of the problem – Fox News. They’re constantly egging on and enabling this shit show every night. But we’re not surprised that the “you can’t tell us what to do, liberals!!!” party is siding with Abbott and his inhuman death traps along the Rio Grande river. But we never thought that we’d see this particular feud unfolding the way that it is. In fact it’s beginning to look a lot like what we think the predicted electoral outcome of the election could look like. Our country is that divided. Should Texas be murdering migrants at the border and shipping them off to other states? HELL NO!

The installation of concertina wire along the Rio Grande was among several physical measures Abbott has taken at the border in his efforts to stem the number of migrants entering Texas. In the year to September 2023, nearly 1.4 million migrants entered the state illegally, according to figures compiled by the Customs and Border Protection (CPB) agency, marginally lower than in the previous year.

Yeah that’s a good question – what is wrong with these people? It’s as if the United States has completely lost any shred of humanity and decency that it once had. We went from “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses” to “fuck off and die, illegals!”. And once again, our favorite network is most of the root cause of this! The bill would strip the power of Texas and other states to challenge some of the its provisions in their local federal court.
Conservative commentators were quick to denounce the provision, contained on page 221 of the bill. Bill Shipley, who was a federal prosecutor for over 20 years, decried the its court provisions on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday.

A RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION campaign is deploying everything from high-ranking lawmakers and government officials to lifestyle influencers, bloggers, and powerful state-run media outlets to stoke divisions in the United States around the Texas border crisis.
WIRED has also obtained exclusive access to data from two separate disinformation research groups that demonstrate a coordinated Russian effort on Telegram and X (formerly Twitter) to sow discord by pushing the narrative that the US is heading for civil war.
The disinformation campaign began in earnest in late January, and expanded after Russian politicians spoke out when the US Supreme Court lifted an order by a lower court and sided with President Joe Biden’s administration to rule that US Border Patrol officers were allowed to take down razor-wire fencing erected by the Texas National Guard. Days later, when Texas governor Greg Abbott refused to stand down, former Russian president and prime minister Dmitry Medvedev, who is currently deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, claimed that the Texas border dispute is “another vivid example of the US hegemony getting weaker.”
“Establishing a People’s Republic of Texas is getting more and more real,” Medvedev added on X, claiming the situation could lead to “a bloody civil war which cost thousands upon thousands of lives” ...

The bogus premise that migrants entering the United States in search of a better life are conducting an “invasion” of the country has moved from the fringes of the right-wing media to its core over the past decade. The idea of an imminent threat to personal safety and national identity posed by columns of faceless brown masses marching on the border is now a fixture of right-wing commentary, from the depths of the online fever swamps to the talk-radio world of Rush Limbaugh to the heights of Fox News. And this incendiary talking point is now the pretext for a looming constitutional crisis.
Texas and the U.S. government are in a standoff over whether the state’s government can defy orders from federal officials by constructing and maintaining razor-wire barriers along the border with Mexico to prevent migrants from crossing into the country. On January 22, the U.S. Supreme Court vacated an appeals court order which had barred the U.S. Border Patrol from taking down the barriers at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, near the Rio Grande — but Texas officials are still preventing federal agents from entering the area.
Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott wrote in a January 24 statement that due to President Joe Biden’s “lawless border policies,” Abbott had “declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself,” and that state officials would continue “acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border.”

I think the Top 10 Conservative Idiots opinion on Vladimir Putin is perfectly clear. We think that he’s an inhuman, disgustingly evil monster who must be destroyed and his minions eradicated from this planet that we live on. Fox News, which fired him in April, made that clear when it successfully defended Carlson against a slander accusation filed against him in 2019. In writing her opinion, U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil restated Fox’s defense: “The “‘general tenor’ of the show should then inform a viewer that he [Carlson] is not ‘stating actual facts’ about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in ‘exaggeration’ and ‘non-literal commentary.’ “
Carlson wasn’t even stating actual facts when he wrongly claimed that Western journalists haven’t pursued a Putin interview. Why, then, did Putin choose Carlson after denying other interview requests from Americans? The answer, in part, lies in Putin’s keen awareness that Carlson isn’t a journalist. Real journalists ask hard questions of powerful people. They push back when misleading or false information is proffered. Putin wanted none of that. That’s essentially what Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said. Other Western news outlets have tried to interview Putin. Does anyone see the irony here? Anyone at all? For the entirety of the Trump administration, the MAGA republicans were like “Don’t you fucking dare question our ties to Vladimir Putin!!!”. Now they literally make frequent trips to Moscow and they’re like “Putin’s not such a bad guy after all!”. It’s truly beyond hope right now. At least it feels that way. However, Financial Times Moscow Bureau Chief Max Seddon singled out one particular part of the interview that had to be particularly embarrassing for Carlson, which came when the Russian president mocked him for getting rejected to work at the CIA decades ago.
"We should thank God that they didn't let you in!" Putin said to Carlson. "Although it is a serious organization, I understand."
Seddon noted that Putin embarrassed Carlson despite the fact that Carlson had gone out of his way to lob softball questions at him while also in the past praising his nation for supposedly upholding traditional Christian values.

And by the way in case you’re wondering, yes, we did find this footage of what Tucker thinks of Putin and it’s not flattering. But you probably knew that already. But the entire thing turned out to be basically just a two hour history lesson of Russia and that’s about it. By the way MAGA conservatives, if you love Putin so much and you’re embarrassed to live in the US, then why don’t you go move to Moscow then? I hear that Vlad is looking for recruits for his volunteer army. But anyway there wasn’t really much accomplished with this interview, other than that the MAGA / Murdoch cult doesn’t want anyone to fuck with them.

Well, we totally called that this is the worst House in United States history. It’s the House that’s brought to you by Fox News, the Heritage Foundation, your local megachurch, and your local batshit crazy AM talk radio host. But this is one of those things that whether or not this is a victory varies greatly depending on who you talk to, and what your talk shows of choice are. If you watched Sean Hannity, he was probably laughing at you. If you’re watching the Daily Show, then of course you know that this was an absolute embarrassment. I mean come on, this is the first time a cabinet member has been fired since the end of the Civil War. And this is including that former administration. How fucking embarrassing is this? And once again – we blame Fox News, the reason why we can’t have nice things, for this massive shit show that we’re currently experiencing. But before we get into this, let’s play a game of “how it started / how’s it going”. Because this isn’t enough to even begin to simplify how batshit crazy this current House is.
House Republicans on Sunday released two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas -- accusing him of "willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law" and "breach of public trust" and taking another step toward a historic attempt to remove him from office while he denies wrongdoing.
"These articles lay out a clear, compelling, and irrefutable case for Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' impeachment," House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn., said in a statement.

This week it’s closing its’ first ever location because of problems created by – you guessed it – late stage capitalism. But we’re from California, In N Out is a part of our diet and a part of our cultural stew. It’s been made famous in tons of movies, music, and TV shows, but most people probably know it from a little film called The Big Lebowski.
But it’s terrible what is happening in cities like Oakland where the rents are skyrocketing to the point where no one can afford to live there, and the homeless population keeps rising. But this is also one of those instances where one thing ruins it for the rest of us. We totally get wanting to keep your customers and employees safe, which is more than can be said for a lot of employers out there.
In-N-Out Burger says it will close its first location in its 75-year history due to a wave of car break-ins, property damage, theft and robberies affecting customers and employees alike at its only restaurant in Oakland, California.
The fast-food burger joint in a busy corridor near Oakland International Airport will close on March 24 because even though the company has taken “repeated steps to create safer conditions our Customers and Associates are regularly victimized,” Denny Warnick, In-N-Out’s chief operating officer, said in a statement Wednesday.
“We feel the frequency and severity of the crimes being encountered by our customers and associates leave us no alternative,” Warnick said.
Oakland has seen a spike in property crime and robberies throughout the city located across the bay from San Francisco, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Now look, you can have all of these cutesy slogans about how Jesus was a cool, hip guy but there’s no denying why so many people – particularly young people – are quitting religion. It’s because churches don’t practice what they preach. I’m not gonna lie to you guys, country music just isn’t my thing. It’s probably because I live in the heavy metal capitol of the world, Los Angeles. That’s right – we gave the world Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Avenged Sevenfold, Queens Of The Stone Age, Rage Against The Machine… the list goes on and on. But after seeing the very tragic death of country music legend Toby Keith last week, we were wondering how best to pay tribute to the man who’s single-handedly responsible for polarizing and politicizing the genre. Yeah remember the good old days of conservative idiocy when the worst thing we have to worry about was that song about putting a boot up someone’s ass? Yeah these days they’re going full Nazi. And this is neither here nor there. But what is here is that the internet did something that we don’t really want to do on this program and that’s open up old wounds. Let that shit be in the past. But since they did, we got to talk about it. In fact let’s let history explain itself a bit.

Two games on Sunday will decide the matchup for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs will face off to decide the AFC's representative in the title game. In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions will play for the second spot in the Super Bowl.

Those who subscribe to the NFL script conspiracy have even more ammo now, thanks to something Aaron Rodgers pointed out while on "The Pat McAfee Show." Rodgers threw out the idea that the NFL might be hinting at the Super Bowl teams with the logos over the last few years.
On Tuesday, Rodgers said he is eager to see the Super Bowl LIX logo for next season, and he hopes it features green as one of the main colors.

Welcome back to part 2 of our 3 part segment that is attempting to lump all of the coverage surrounding the 2024 election to end all elections into one convenient, mouth sized place – Road To The Primaries! If you follow American elections at any point, you know that the primaries all follow literally the same pattern every cycle. It starts with Iowa and New Hampshire, then proceeds to South Carolina, then heads straight to Super Tuesday which involves a giant boatload of states. Think of it like learning how to swim. You can’t just jump in the deep end first and expect to survive. You got to wade in the shallow end before you go full monty. Well this week we got to talk about my home states’ neighbors and my home away from home the state of Nevada and their primary. This is probably my favorite thing to happen out of the election thus far.
Nikki Haley was swamped in Nevada’s symbolic Republican presidential primary as GOP voters resoundingly picked the “none of these candidates” option on the ballot in a repudiation of the former U.N. ambassador who is the last remaining major rival to front-runner Donald Trump.
Trump didn’t compete in Tuesday’s primary, which doesn’t award any delegates needed to win the GOP nomination. The former president is instead focused on caucuses that will be held Thursday and will help him move closer to becoming the Republican standard-bearer.
That leaves the results Tuesday as technically meaningless in the Republican race. But they still amount to an embarrassment for Haley, who has sought to position herself as a candidate who can genuinely compete against Trump. Instead, she became the first presidential candidate from either party to lose a race to “none of these candidates” since that option was introduced in Nevada in 1975.

Now you might be wondering why none of these candidates are beating Trump. It’s because none of them want to. And they’re not even close to toppling him in terms of the numbers. And in case you’re wondering, the AP really did call the Nevada primary for Joe Biden, and it’s no accident. His popularity in the Silver State is growing by a long shot!
President Joe Biden has easily won Tuesday’s Democratic presidential primary in Nevada, his second lopsided victory in four days over a mostly unknown field of challengers.
The Associated Press declared Biden the winner at 11:39 p.m. ET based on initial vote results in Washoe County, the second largest in the state, that showed him eclipsing the rest of the field. At the time the race was called, Biden led with about 89% of the vote, with “None of these candidates” a very distant second at about 6%. Self-help author Marianne Williamson was at about 3%. U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota opted to skip the first-in the-west contest in Nevada and did not appear on the ballot.
Since declaring Biden the winner, vote results in seven additional counties confirmed Biden’s win, most notably in Clark County, home of Las Vegas and by far Nevada’s most populous. As of 1 a.m. ET, Biden led in Clark with about 90% of the vote, a vast improvement over the 24% he received there in the 2020 Democratic caucuses. That year, his showing in Clark was enough to earn him second place statewide because of its massive population, even though he finished third or worse in the rest of the state. Although results from the caucuses don’t provide an exact point of comparison, Tuesday’s primary results do indicate the president now enjoys a much broader base of support in Nevada than he did against a highly competitive field four years ago.
Biden will also win the lion’s share of national convention delegates at stake in Tuesday’s Democratic primary. As of 1:00 a.m. ET, The Associated Press had allocated 30 of the state’s 36 delegates at stake to Biden. The remaining delegates will be awarded once additional votes are counted. According to party rules, any candidate who receives at least 15% of the vote either at the statewide level or in a congressional district will qualify for delegates. This includes the “None of these candidates” option that Nevada law requires to appear on the ballot for statewide elections.

The Associated Press declared Biden the winner at 11:39 p.m. ET based on initial vote results in Washoe County, the second largest in the state, that showed him eclipsing the rest of the field. At the time the race was called, Biden led with about 89% of the vote, with “None of these candidates” a very distant second at about 6%. Self-help author Marianne Williamson was at about 3%. U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota opted to skip the first-in the-west contest in Nevada and did not appear on the ballot.
Since declaring Biden the winner, vote results in seven additional counties confirmed Biden’s win, most notably in Clark County, home of Las Vegas and by far Nevada’s most populous. As of 1 a.m. ET, Biden led in Clark with about 90% of the vote, a vast improvement over the 24% he received there in the 2020 Democratic caucuses. That year, his showing in Clark was enough to earn him second place statewide because of its massive population, even though he finished third or worse in the rest of the state. This isn’t just student council. This is for the presidency of the United States of America, and well, this election will determine whether America chooses a path of freedom, or it chooses a path of fascist authoritarianism as other countries around the world have. Yeah it’s a scary decision and we really hope that Americans rise up and do the right thing and stomp the Fox brand of authoritarianism out of existence once and for all. But here’s the thing people – Super Tuesday is literally 3 weeks away and we got to get our shit together! Yes, Biden won Nevada by a landslide but the big prize is still a long time away. It’s the first quarter and we just made a 1st down. We have a lot of game left before it’s finally over!
It all gets down to a spat between the state and the state’s Republican Party. The state legislature, run by Democrats, passed a bill in 2021 that instituted a state primary instead of the traditional caucuses. They also took measures to improve access to the voting process. The state’s GOP, in protest, decided to hold the caucuses anyway. The primary will be held today and the caucuses on this Thursday, February 8. The state GOP told candidates that delegates would be awarded based on the caucuses only, and also decreed that candidates must choose to be on either the primary ballot or the caucus ballot, but not both.
Haley chose to be on the primary ballot; Trump chose the caucus. Haley probably figured she could spin a win this way, Trump figured the same and would also pick up delegates. Insanity reigns in the GOP.
You may counter, yes, but the Democrats were showing some of their own insanity in New Hampshire, running a primary that did not result in any delegates, right? I would agree, to a point, but at least the New Hampshire Democrats were following their state laws, which require New Hampshire to hold a first-in-the-nation primary, whereas the Nevada Republicans are defying their state laws.
So, there won’t be much drama in seeing Haley stomp over Tim Scott and Mike Pence, who have suspended their campaigns, and such other luminaries as Heath Fulkerson and Donald Kjornes (maybe the latter’s presence will allow Haley to claim to have beaten “Donald”). For his part, Trump will surely triumph over fringe candidate Ryan Binkley.
