He was a young KGB agent and he placed the blame entirely on the US. He vowed revenge.

And promised that he would break up the United States just like the USSR was broken up.

He has certainly been making good on that promise.

I saw the villa where he used to live. A few houses down, there was a courtyard and a white wall that still was pockmarked with bullet holes where Putin and his pals used to dispatch "uncomfortable" people.
