'WE ARE NOT LIABLE: Fine print says Trump gold sneakers won't ship for months
It will be months before buyers MIGHT receive Donald Trump's exclusive line of sneakers, and ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Hope you all kissed goodbye to your $399 plus shipping and tax. Any GUESSES, where these sneakers are being made? 🫢😱
According to the fine print on the Trump Sneakers website, it could take up to five months for customers to receive their purchases. Some products could take even longer.
"Trump Sneakers are expected to start shipping July 2024 for the gold High-Tops, and the Potus 45 White Knit & Red Wave Knit are expected to ship in August 2024," a statement on the website said.
The statement did not rule out additional delays.
"Shipping and delivery dates are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. We are not liable for any delays in shipments," the fine print noted.
The website also explained why the gold sneakers took so long to produce.
"The Sneaker(s) are made to order," the website claimed. "When you checkout you will be able to order any size that you want, meaning there is no chance a size can sell out unless the whole collection sells out. The images shown are for illustration purposes only and may not be an exact representation of the product."
But the fine print assured customers that the sneakers would be "special."
"Our official Donald J. Trump sneakers and fragrances are a tribute to the Trump legacy, blending premium craftsmanship with a distinctive style," the document insisted. "Our sneakers are designed to stand out with bold elements like the gold '45' and the American flag, symbolizing leadership and patriotism."
The site also ruled out the possibility of refunds.
"There are no refunds. All sales are final."
Trump's sneaker sales come on the heels of a more than $350 million fraud judgment for what a New York judge said was a widespread pattern of financial fraud at the Trump Organization. Trump has attacked the verdict and is vowing to appeal.

(28,836 posts)I've seen it mentioned in several articles about the shoes.
I'm not sure why people are making such a big deal about this. If people can't read, that's on them. Plenty of companies take pre-orders for merchandise, so this really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
Just something else to get worked up about, I guess.

Independent musicians have been taking pre-orders for their music about as long as retail websites have been around.

(9,214 posts)Charged when they place the order. L O N G delay then charged again when order is shipped, with hope that idiot buyers won't remember the first charge, so long before they get the 'Your order has shipped!' email. Also, how many idiots might forget they ordered the damned things and not notice they were robbed to begin with?
Remember, this is the same guy who pulled the automatic MONTHLY donation fine print stunt.

I think they'll ship a few prototypes made in China (like the one the rusky billionaire bought) for show and yes, they may try to charge the rubes again.

(32,746 posts)Guessing China. If Trump becomes president will he have to pay a tariff on importing his sneakers? Someone should ask him.
That is, if there really is a factory in China making gold sneakers.

It is the next best thing to being an immunized President/Dictator.
