I attended a seminar about LGBTQ+, focusing on the trans community.

Even though I identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, I know I still have lots to learn about my comrades.

The panel discussion on trans was extremely enlightening.

One of the common misunderstandings is that we, as a society, are still stuck in binary thinking male / female.

Many of the trans community are embracing a non-binary identity. The leader of the panel, non-binary, disclosed that they had chosen to stop taking testosterone. They originally had planned to go from cis-female to complete male, but found that non-binary was their true identity.

All of the RW hysteria about cis-males putting on a dress to "play act" to get access to vulnerable women is just their paranoid bigoted imaginations.

If they were to actually spend time and listen to the stories of these real people, they might understand how their hate and fear is so baseless.

But, they will never do that.

We need to stand up for trans people especially right now, their bodies and souls are being attacked daily.

It's horrific.

There is only experience and desire, hardening into habit, sometimes breaking loose from it, sometimes shifting, sometimes not budging. The myth of the true identity - the authentic self - was politically expedient, but is now poltiically damaging. Throw it overboard.

Nothing is stopping a predator from going into the womens restroom. A fucking sign isn't going to deter a man...I'm so tired of that lame ass excuse.

Us transwomen want one thing, to pee and that's it. We are not concerned about the need of looking at ciswomen.

I'm a fucking woman and you know what? Fuck what the RW has to say. Its my life, I made the choice to align with how I've felt since I was a fucking child. So bite me!

Trans lives matter, RW lives do not.

..............that's what THEY would do. They were probably that kid we all knew in grade school who was obsessed with getting into the girls' restroom to see what was doing in there.

As someone who has a trans person in my family, I am DISGUSTED by the full-scale effort to demonize and dehumanize them. They can't run on their list of accomplishments (they have none), or on a weak economy, so they've decided that their issues for this election are going to be illegal immigration and bullying trans kids. They are literally building their Party platform on making people's lives WORSE. And it's already the most marginalized and vulnerable community on the planet. They think they're going to score political points by pointing and laughing at the weird kid. Disgusting. When did our country become a bunch of third grade bullies?
