You may remember that last week, we learned that Special Counsel David Weiss charged one of the GOP’s star witnesses against Joe Biden, former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, with lying about financial ties between Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and Burisma.

Now we learn that Weiss says that Smirnov “had contact with Russian intelligence agencies.”

Is it me, or do Republicans in Congress always seem to be working with the Russians on something? Perhaps that’s why they are so against helping Ukraine?

It seems that the idea of "there are no pictures of smirnoff!" is some kind of red herring being put out there by the media for some devious reason.

33. Alexander Smirnov isn't a rare name, as those who've Googled him will know.

There are perils in identification via social media, and even the MSM can get things wrong. The video clip subtitles his name with a slightly different spelling, understandable in the ways transliteration of Russian to English varies, then goes on to spell it Smirnov in the same item.

The face looks older than I'd expect from what little one can see in the swaddled perp walk pics.

I offer it with the best of intentions, but we know how they can work out. Presumably we'll have a definitive identification and clear mugshot in the fulness of time.

One thing we can probably safely say from the perp walk pics is that he wears orange crocs. That must narrow down the field a bit.
