Trump May Be In Early Stages Of Alzheimers

According to psychologist Dr. John Gartner, formerly of Johns Hopkins University Medical School, Donald Trump's slurring and inability to sometimes formulate complete sentences appears to be a sign of growing dementia and possibly early stages of Alzheimer’s.

In an interview with Salon's Chauncey DeVega, Gartner bluntly stated the former president is "showing gross signs of dementia" and fellow experts are not pointing out the warning signs nearly enough.
According to Gartner, "Some examples of Trump’s non-words: Beneficiaries becomes 'benefishes.' Renovations become 'renoversh.' Pivotal became 'pivobal.' Obama became 'obamna.' Missiles became 'mishiz.' Christmas became 'Crissus.' Bipartisan became 'bipars.' This is a fundamental breakdown in the ability to use language. If you were talking to your father on the phone and he did this you would think he is having a stroke. There is no healthy older person who speaks that way."

Feb 2024

Alzheimer's can progress slowly but Trump has been in the presidential spotlight now for eight years and he looks just as deranged and confused as he did in 2016.

Just last week someone was posting a video of Trump confusing 9/11 with 7-Eleven. It was hilarious and total proof he's lost his shit.

Except the video was from 2016.

Even in the days of his presidency, he was confused. Like when he referred to Tim Cook as Tim Apple.

Or when, in 2017, he gave a speech and started walking out of the room when he was told he needed to sign some legislation - the whole point of being there.

Then there was his claiming in 2017 that Andrew Jackson was really angery about the Civil War - except the Civil War didn't start until years after Jackson's death.

Trump has always been a moron. I don't think he suffers from dementia. He just suffers from being an idiot.

Much like Bush.

I actually don't think it's productive to get into a dementia-off. I don't believe that helps win voters over and it just keeps the claims about Biden's mental acuity in the limelight.

Call Trump dumb. Attack how ill-equipped mentally he is to handle the presidency. But I see no reason to tie it to dementia or his age because, again, that just raises the issue with Biden too.

Especially one who is biased against Trump.

Dr. Gartner also petitioned Schumer back in 2017 to remove Trump from office because he was mentally unfit.

In 2018, he wrote a letter to Trump's doctor, Ronny Jackson, asking him to perform a cognitive exam because there were signs he might be suffering from dementia.

Then in 2019, he wrote an article for USA Today claiming Trump might suffer from dementia.

My point? He's been at this for nearly eight years now.

As awful as Trump is - and he is - if he had dementia all the way back in 2017, the signs likely would be very apparent in 2024. The average lifespan of someone with dementia is eight-to-ten years. Trump is right at that supposed eight-year mark according to this same doctor. He would theoretically be entering the severe stage of the disease and as unhinged as Trump is, he's nowhere near the end-stage of dementia.

So, either Trump is one of the lucky ones and has a really slow-forming version of dementia (which is pretty rare) or he's just crazy and has been crazy since 2016.

But I don't think it's appropriate for any doctor to be making that diagnosis off speeches and what they see on TV.

How can I accept it when Ronny Jackson, also a doctor (literally Obama's White House doctor) is out there doing the exact same thing with Biden? Should we trust him because he's a doctor too? No.

Trump is dumb. He's always been dumb. He's also dangerous. But not because he's suffering from dementia.

Focusing on dementia, whether it's posting an article or outright making the claim yourself, isn't a winning argument because it just brings Biden's age into it.

We need to focus on how crazy Trump is and what he plans on doing if elected again - not that he flubs a line or slurs his words due to his fake teeth or whatever.

Is that they usually have really good medical care and can survive and hide mental issues better and longer than an average person.

If Cheney had been poor he would have died of heart failure long ago.

If Reagan had been anyone else, he would have been put in a home or wandered off to starve.

If W had average wealth, his liver would have given out 25 years ago.

If Trump had been born to a poor family, he would be living on skid row talking to light posts or have died of COVID.

Really good medical care can noticable improve your life. This crap about anti-vaxxer, essential oils or drinking bleach to cure illness is just for us middle class and poor. It's modern day voodoo. It's cheap and ineffective. Designed for people who can't afford $30,000 medical bills. And if you can afford it, it won't be top of the line, expert treatment.

Do you think Trump would have survived COVID if he had been you or I?

No, Trump's going to go on being the stinking Nazi babbling nonsense while his cult takes it as God's word for a good 13 to 20 years still. Modern medicine really is almost miraculous if you can afford it.

Trump continues to slide. Haley stays in the race as back up, but his lick spittle cult will never abandon their idea of revenge. His court losses and crimes almost don't matter to independents because his decline on the cognitives is so obvious. RNC wishes to hide him, but there is no telling Trump what to do. He continues to babble and slur. Most voters are repelled.

Trump picks someone completely unlikable like Tim Scott or Vivaswarmy. Even if he croaks or quits before election day, they VP candidate is so bad as to not be an option. Trump has dug such a big hole that pandering to blacks and women with Scott or Haley pick will not move numbers.

After he loses by twenty million votes, he wigs out during a public speech and collapses. I mean REALLY loses it. Hamberder style tantrum.

Magas still do not go away. They have no shame and will stew on their idiocy for generations. There will never be another Trump because no other politician spent the last 20 years on TV cosplaying the rich boss. GOP back bench is horrific.

Trump, while doing incredible damage to the US and earth in general.. ends out being a great thing for the Democratic Party and US. The party gets new access to rural and middle America at just the right time. The absurdness of Trump demise and GOP spiral will help with Independents for years. Biden will continue to do a good job but will resign shortly after 2026 mid terms. Harris will become first woman president and America will love her energy and spirit. Because of mid term appointment, she will be eligible for 2 more elections. Biden will cement hero status as he gives up his presidency for good of the country. Biden give Harris a head start to win over the country and show she will be a great president. Would Harris win in a general without the head start? Maybe, but certainly easier with incumbency.

After Biden wins and we take over congress, we end the filibuster for good and get some big stuff done. Court term limits? Womens healthcare?

After midterm, Biden expands the extreme court and fixes that mess. THEN, hands off to Kamala. Biden takes the heat on the way out..

This.. is if it times out perfect. If Trump collapses early, then Haley vs Biden might expose age gap.

Dems in Senate should start debating a Women's Healthcare Protection act RIGHT NOW (or maybe August?). Keep it simple. Hospitals must treat. Abortion exception for rape and incest. Abortion drug availability. IVF guidelines. No state laws against out of state travel for healthcare. Paint the GOP in the corner on their extremism.

Dr. John Gartner on a tale of two brains: "Biden's brain is aging. Trump's brain is dementing"

Donald Trump has demonstrated, in repeated and dangerous ways, that he appears to be profoundly unwell mentally and emotionally. Some of the country’s and world’s leading mental health professionals have concluded that based on his behavior, Trump is likely a sociopath if not a psychopath.

Whatever one may think about the specifics of his policies, President Joe Biden, on the other hand, is a responsible leader and an institutionalist who believes in America and the democratic experiment. By comparison, Donald Trump hates democracy, attempted a coup on Jan. 6, and is a megalomaniac who believes that he is some type of god or messiah. Whatever a fence sitter, undecided, or disgruntled Democrat or other member of Biden’s 2020 electoral coalition who is angry at him over a specific policy may think and feel, there is no issue where Donald Trump will be a real improvement. Moreover, Trump and his MAGA movement will punish those people who they view as being members of the Democratic Party's base of support. Ultimately, a “principled” vote against President Biden (or deciding to abstain in protest) is a vote for Trump and American neofascism.

wife and I are both 76.

I posted it because it would truly be karma if all of the Magat rantings about President Biden's mental deficiencies came back to haunt them. What Biden is experiencing is just natural old age setting in, Trump's problem is much more serious.

Or somewhere. There is/was a guy on Twitter (when it was that and not Xitter) when I was still there who made it his business to track him, and he swore the guy had frontotemporal dementia. He could and did cite evidence of every single miscue that led him to believe this, and he had hundreds of followers who agreed with him, me included.

I know this kind of thing is comforting, but it isn't really helpful.
Various people have been saying this since at least the middle of his term as president. There was at least 1 person
who claimed he'd be in a wheelchair or confined by early 2021.

I agreed with this, but it did not happen. And it shows no sign of happening. He's wacky alright but showing no
signs of inability to carry out his discreditable life. He just keeps on going.

Drug addict, maybe. Exhausted old guy, probably. Massively disordered personality for sure.
This is what we have to deal with. He's not going to the skilled nursing facility any time soon.

what you are saying could be defined as compassion. My father has it. Considering how it has changed him, the misery it causes him and how he spreads that misery to those around him, he would have been better off had he keeled over suddenly a few years ago. Instead, it is just a protracted torture that does nothing but wring out the family both emotionally and financially.
