Saw on MSNBC this morning. The hearing was this morning, so it was live, breaking news but still seemed to garnish very brief coverage. Maybe a few sentences and the guy on MSNBC was almost dismissive in his attitude. Although a judge, who I assume is in possession of the facts, thinks he's a flight risk and should stay in jail, the reporter said that Smirnov is basically a big talker. Tried to make it seem like it was all much ado about nothing.
Still no photo, mugshot or otherwise, of the guy. Corporate media is scared to death of this story or sees it as not helpful to their "narrative"

(8,203 posts)Smirnov's attorneys attempted to keep him out of custody by putting forth a significant bond package, which included house arrest for Smirnov. This request was, however, denied. As a result, Smirnov will remain incarcerated in a federal facility in California until his trial which will likely not occur until next year.
