Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel will officially be vacating her post on March 8, paving the way for Donald Trump to handpick a new leader.
I have decided to step aside at our spring training on March 8 in Houston to allow our nominee to select a chair of their choosing, McDaniel told the New York Times. The R.N.C. has historically undergone change once we have a nominee, and it has always been my intention to honor that tradition. I remain committed to winning back the White House and electing Republicans up and down the ballot in November. As The Times noted, McDaniel was the first woman to helm the R.N.C. in more than 40 years, assuming the position in 2017 after a stint as chairwoman of the GOP in Michigan.
The former president has publicly endorsed Michael Whatley, the R.N.C.'s general counsel and a proponent of his fraudulent election claims, to serve in McDaniel's stead. Trump has also backed his daughter-in-law and wife of his son Eric, Lara Trump, to be the organization's next co-chair.
The RNC MUST be a good partner in the presidential election, Trump said in a previous statement, according to the Times. It must do the work we expect from the national Party and do it flawlessly. That means helping to ensure fair and transparent elections across the country. Lara is an extremely talented communicator and is dedicated to all that MAGA stands for. She has told me she wants to accept this challenge and would be GREAT!

Trump and has said that there is an appetite among Republican voters to pay his legal bills. I think that they're in for a rude awakening." Ankey continued: I think that a lot of people do not want the R.N.C. to be paying Trump's legal bills. And I think that a lot of the $5, $10 and $25 donors to his political operation would feel differently about that. So we're focused on the fight ahead."
I have no problem with tfg scamming the RNC of their cash.

I can't imagine a more fitting consequence than for Republicans throughout the country to have no resources (or very limited resources) for their campaigns. This guy could literally completely bring the party down. And, I'm not so sure that I want what's been referred to as a "healthy Republican party."
I mean they consider Reagan a hero and the best president ever. Just look at the damages his policies incurred! This may be a knee-jerk reaction on my part and is only my opinion but the ideology/platform (when they have one) is so effed up! We can start by looking at how "trickle-down" economics has practically decimated the middle-class.

Donnie Dipshit has fantasized about since he was spawned.
He tried to conquer NY, he was treated like the joke he is.
He tries to conquer football, and the real billionaires spanked his ass and sent him back to mommy.
He tries to conquer Atlantic City, and they sent him home with this tail between his legs.
He tried to conquer TV, and drew an audience lower than a PBS After School Special.
The Retrumplican Party is nothing but sniveling cowards

Lisa Ruben referenced this a little while ago on Deadline WH so, of course I had to watch it again. But it fits in this conversation in a smirky way.

(9,132 posts)The RNC is already not getting the donations they expect in a Presidential election year.
This obvious raid on the RNC's bank account may hurt their ability to fund raise, especially with large donors who expect their contributions to help down ballot candidates.
Not only is it obvious that Trump is going to exercise his role as candidate to control the disbursement of funds, but it will make it harder for anyone who isn't in thrall to him to gain any traction in the primaries and general election. They won't get the financial support they need.
It's going to result in losses for the House of Representatives, and losses in state elections.
This amounts to a deliberate destruction of the Republican Party, while enriching the Trump family and a few of his favorite candidates.
I hope he bleeds them dry. If they are so spineless that they let that ridiculous clown openly steal their money and tank the party, then they deserve what they get.
