Been awake all night worrying

About the latest SCOTUS announcement. I am finally realizing that yes he will get away with all his crimes and will most likely be elected and there is little that I can do about it besides voting.
Scary times for sure.

I think people are worrying more than they need to.

Also, get some sleep. Spend time with friends/family. Local action/local elections matter. Don't let Trump get to you. Do what you can (vote, rally, get out the vote) to win in November.

Romney says he will not vote for trump because he’s too dangerous.

I don't understand it, either. Why would you surrender your country to a fascist dictator who will never leave office because you disagree with the decision your democratic Pres made over a different country? That's cutting your nose off to spite your face. It makes no sense. Protest, complain, bitch...but, turn your country over to the likes of Trump???

We have to get out and vote. The question is will the Republican legislatures allow the vote to count and be the determinative factor in certification of state votes for the Electoral college.

This is what frightens me.

I don't even know if they were successful but it seems like there were many attempts to pass laws in certain states that would allow legislatures to override the vote count.

Might as well be the official motto of the Democratic Party. I've been complaining about spineless Democratic responses to Republican outrages for decades, and absolutely nothing has changed. I take it you're white, male and Christian. Otherwise, your age won't save you, if you're in a group that can be deprived of citizen rights, deported, or displaced. Being old is tough; you have to be strong in the face of adversity.

I think you are saying you are adaptable. We are all going to have to adapt, if we don't leave. Please encourage the young ones to vote all Repubs everywhere out of office. This would be the best thing for the country.

There is just no limit how low Trump can go and nothing makes a difference. There is nothing that will
change any of his cult, they are brainwashed with "alternative facts". The fix has been in over J6 for three
years now. Garland sat on his fucking hands for two years. Cannon gets picked for the Florida trial. It looks
like the case in Georgia will fall apart. Garland appointed a Trump SC to investigate Hunter. The SCOTUS of
the US is corrupted beyond belief. Trump may pay a fine in NY, I don't really care that won't stop him from running.
I don't have that long left to worry about it anymore, I am just one vote in Ohio that doesn't count.
The only vote I have is for Sharrod Brown, there are no Democrats even running for any local positions. The only
place you can blow off steam is here on DU. The only MSM that isn't totally in the tank for Trump is MSNBC and
I rarely watch that anymore. Just burned out.

I'm almost there myself. Need a break off the front line.

Binging on horror movies. I'm frustrated that you can watch 3 complete episodes, and then you have to buy. I love science fiction, romance, and disaster films.

My dog is facing embarrassment from being dressed in costumes and having to eat experimental food dishes. I have ordered toppers for his kibble, and soon he'll have a second dog to play with. Training should take care of the summer.

Meanwhile, I'm forking over for a guitar despite my mallet finger. Where there's a will, there's a way. I have a piano keyboard already. I love music and need that to stay sane.

I am very nervous now. I have a zillion frogs outside. They were gone for a long time, but now they are back. I generally like them, but they have the disturbing habit of suddenly stopping their croaks, all at once. What is out there?

I'm tired of being depressed. I firmly believe that you make your own happiness, if you can. My feeling is that as soon as I look away, something really bad will happen, and then I won't understand what happened. But, almost every day I tell myself, take the day off and do something fun and pleasurable. There are many things that I wanted to do, but didn't. Now's the time. While we are still a democracy.

the movie Judgment at Nuremberg?

At the end, it was noted that Hitler couldn't have succeeded without the judges. The judges could have ruled against Hitler's laws, yet they did not.

Our SCOTUS is now complicit with the election of a dictator. I pray that the voters have the wisdom to defeat a monster. We know now for certain there will be no help for us from the legal system.

Consider volunteering for political campaigns for example to turn your anxiety into action. That, and, (if you are willing), learn how to use a gun.

Just do the best you can, and, if that isn’t enough, then, you did all you could.
