Ted Lieu re -SCOTUS action: if the trial is delayed until after November, we will see THE LARGEST BLUE WAVE IN HISTORY.

If November becomes a referendum on whether Trump faces justice, then Democrats will absolutely flip the House, keep the White House and expand the Senate.

Argentina - which is known for its history of coups - can trace its first one to a 1930 Supreme Court ruling that legalized them.

And they're still doing it, in a way - allowing Trump's Chucky doll Milei to rule by decree (disastrously) without intervening.

It's a cautionary tale of the slippery slope that a nation can easily find itself in , at the hands of what Jefferson called "despots in robes."

But those 3 are essentially controlled by Dems. Disenfranchise voters in GA, AZ or NC, while tragic and wrong, is meaningless in the electoral college math. MI, PA and WI are the only states that matter. GA and AZ were icing on Biden's cake.

The magic math of the last several cycles is still there. What happens in most states is a forgone conclusion.

Fortunately, the governors all 3 are Dems. Sec. States of 2 are Dems. PA's Sec State is an R, but appointed by a Dem governor, refused to participate in the 2020 shenanigans as an R city commissioner in Philly and was awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal by Joe Biden. Though WI's legislature is controlled by R's, MI and PA are either Dem controlled of split. In short, we're in better shape in that regard than 2020.

However, no one actually cares about this trial irl. Most people don’t even know it’s happening. It could even be cancelled and no one would care.

People need to just vote instead. You aren’t going to get them to the polls from this.

Hardcore Dems are the only people that give a shit about this. This November will 100% be a referendum on Joe Biden, like every other 1st term President seeking re-election in history.

In the grand scheme of things, this case is moving to SCOTUS at light speed. There have been just a handful of cases that have moved as fast or faster than this case.

and who would stop him if he's "immune"?

I'm hopeful we'll get a decision on this matter by the end of SCOTUS's session in June, but I'm not overly optimistic that it will happen then. And I'm even less optimistic about their so-called decision. If they were going to definitively rule out his immunity claims, they could have (SHOULD HAVE) stayed the Appeals court's decision. By agreeing to take it up, they're allowing him to continue his one man crime spree unimpeded and with permission. And does anyone here believe that they'd decide against him and therefore cause catastrophic chaos in the rethug party by creating a situation where their putative nominee could face a criminal prosecution prior to the so-called election?

But he could not be more wrong. Why do we expect "voters" to save us? They were the people that created the problems in the first place.
People don't care. I'm supposed to depend on voters that elected trump in the first place?!? That gave us Boebert? Jordan? Gaetz?
Voters are fickle and ignorant. Michigan showed that. A hundred thousand people decided that Trump as president is just fine to them. Before people say "it was just a primary" I would point to the hundreds of statements that they won't vote for Biden in November because of Gaza. Even heard some of these be people dismissive of the deaths and suffering Trump will cause as "that's the lesson people have to learn" I heard a person say. Which proves it was never about Gaza but people demanding others do as they tell them.

I think we need a fundamental reworking of how we do government. How we do our economy. It was always fragile but few, even just 20 years ago, would have thought it was this fragile. The system we have has completely failed to prevent fascists and ultra-wealthy from all but seizing power. The system is broken.

Both methods work. 1 requires the option to demonstrate what the truth is to one and all. 2 requires the will to confront the bully in person for as long as it takes.

IMO we do not have the time nor the option to use the 2nd method. Therefore we must apply the 1st at every single opportunity, and insist that the MSM do likewise.
