There's a lot of talk whether or not your group 'saved' the election by thwarting KKKarl's dirty tricks in Ohio. Some say you did, some say you didn't, some say it didn't matter cause Obama won enough states anyway without Ohio.
Personally I think that if anyone could, y'all did. As a lifelong techhead, I understand the tricks and techniques.
But, that's not why I write.
If you did, then I implore you to make a dump of EVERYTHING you know, name names, places, systems. Everything. Leave nothing to the imagination. Let there be ZERO doubt that KKKarl was being a dick, and you got in the way.
NOT so you can take credit, take a bow, any of that... you know your abilities and so do a lot of folks.
No, not for credit.
Do it so there is irrefutable evidence that that low life son-of-a-bitch Rove was trying his standard trick of election-tampering and we can stick his and his criminal cohorts sorry asses in jail for a long, long time.
Evidence that NO ONE can doubt, can ignore, can walk away from and forget.
Do it cause he's a bastard and deserves it.

(9,644 posts)the powers that be would try to close the openings. It might also lead to improved tracking of Anonymous groups.
Personally, I would like to see additional information as well, but don't want to see these efforts blocked in the future. And simply publishing a list of names and places without details on how it was obtained is unlikely to convince many.

And 'closing openings' would be a good thing, no?
So I think it's pretty clear that the anonymous email was just a prank. A pretty lame one that some want to make into an urban legend.

(12,471 posts)"anonymous" e-mails CAN be tracked. It takes a little longer, but with the proper work, through the proper channels, you can get the IP address of any e-mail sender.
How do you think they caught the members of Anonymous who were using LOIC?

Surely you understand that they broke into a computer system, which, in itself, is a crime. They then prohibited the owner of that system from accessing the system, also a crime. They could be accused of tampering with election results by some teabagger, and would end up somewhat like Bradley Manning.
Is this what you REALLY want?
I know how systems like these work myself, and do not want Anonymous to turn themselves in. This is essentially what you are asking. If they reveal their methods, they are pleading guilty to multiple felonies, and you can bet the ranch that the Feds will be on their ass, like dingleberries in no time flat.
I don't want them to write another network manual that any Joe Blow would understand, because that is nearly impossible. If you were an actual IT worker for any amount of time, you might realize this. To me, a "teckhead" is merely a hobbyist, who does not know how to set up and maintain VPNs, or large networks. It's quite different than your single computer, or even your home networl.
And if you actually read the memo, you would see that they targeted THREE states, not just Ohio.
