Over 25,000 women and children killed by Israel in Gaza- Pentagon chief

WASHINGTON, Feb 29 (Reuters) - U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday that more than 25,000 women and children had been killed by Israel since October 7, adding that Israel can and should do more to protect civilians.

During a congressional hearing, Austin was asked how many Palestinian women and children had been killed by Israel and Austin replied: "It is over 25,000."

Austin added that about 21,000 precision guided munitions had been provided to Israel since the start of its war in Gaza. (Reporting by Idrees Ali and Phil Stewart)

But is that the standard? Israel gets to receive attacks because they invested in defenses but is not allowed to respond to attacks?

Should Israel not attack rocket launches because they have Iron Dome?

Or only when one gets through and kills people, then they may fire one back?

21,000 precision guided munitions to your less than 11,000+ is fucking overkill.

29,782 Palestinian to 1,410 Israeli's.

nor is it a competition that requires a level playing field. Hamas picked a fight and boasted they were ready for any response. They knew their people would be in the middle and did not care.

I can grieve all of the deaths but at the same time I can understand why the totals are lopsided.

I can readily see if for myself.

Second screw up which embarrasses his boss, the President of the United States.

I grew up in a military family and when the generals and pentagon make mistakes,
people can get killed.

President Biden you have to step in, and now. It's not a good look to acknowledge the carnage while doing nothing to stop it. Please don't make us complicit in this any longer.

So many people tend to dismiss the numbers because the authorities in GAZA "can't be telling the truth".

Time to pull the ambassador and stop payment on the checks.

The killing isn't over by a long shot. The malnutrition and disease numbers will dwarf the bomb and bullet numbers if things continue on the current trajectory.
