Trump Says He Is 'Absolutely' Considering Gov. Greg Abbott As Potential VP Pick

Pouring on the CRUELTY there Donnie? Do you actually think this would be a winning ticket? Gregg Abbott is as Anti-Immigrant, Anti-Abortion, and ANTI-AMERICAN as Governors get. I can see Kamala Harris chewing ole Gregg up and spitting him up with nary a spec on her suit.

Former President Donald Trump, the front-runner in the Republican presidential primary, said on Thursday that he is considering Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) as a potential running mate.

In a joint interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity during a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, Trump said the governor is “absolutely” included on his vice presidential shortlist.

“Certainly, he would be somebody that I would very much consider,” Trump said in a joint appearance with Abbott.
Trump praised Abbott as a “spectacular man,” adding that he was honored to receive his endorsement this past November.

What a team. That would be a living nightmare. But if he picks Abbott and they lose, perhaps the first Dem governor since Ann Richards could happen.

Although I'm still surprised that he would pick him. Maybe as Trump declines he wants someone next to him who looks even weaker. ??? Or he just likes what a mean fuck Abbott is. That's probably it.

He sued the property owner and arborist and got millions that he is still receiving. Later, as AG he led the push to limit tort to favor civil defendants. Total hypocrisy as usual from a Republican.

If trump chooses Abbott as VP, that would put Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in the governor's mansion. And just trust me on this one: Dan Patrick as Texas Governor would make Abbott's years in office seem like the Good Old Days, by comparison.

He knows that migrants have helped fuel the Texas economy for years, but he did nothing until a couple of years ago. If he becomes Trump’s VP pick, he would be in line to become the presidential candidate if Trump gets sidelined either for criminal convictions or because his dementia becomes so obvious that even the MAGA Republican Party stops being oblivious and recognizes that he isn’t mentally capable.

There is no way that Trump will run with a man in a wheelchair. Trump wouldn’t even be seen with wounded service people.

To be clear, a disability isn’t disqualifying in my view. But Abbott’s policies are atrocious and inhumane. Those are qualities that Trump would admire. But Trump is all about appearance and he’s already shown that he’s uncomfortable around people who aren’t “perfect” in his eyes.

Of course, the other thing is that whatever Trump says is a lie.

on the advice of PR experts to try to improve his image. Maybe the governor of South Dakota or Marjorie Taylor Green or someone awful like that.

I think he likes what Abbott is doing in terms of border control in Texas. He's not going to risk moving him and he doesn't like being outshined.

He would be too concerned about Abbot making him "look bad" because he sees people in wheelchairs as weak and damaged. He despises disabled people and it matters not how they got there.
