https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/truly-dystopian-experts-worry-trump-s-school-vaccine-plan-will-spark-public-health-catastrophe/ar-BB1jjqumA former lawmaker raised alarms after former President Donald Trump's vow in Virginia to defund public schools that require vaccines.
Trump, who has repeatedly vowed not to "give one penny to any school that has a vaccine mandate," repeated his call during an appearance in Richmond on Saturday, according to former Rep. Barbara Comstock, R-Va.
"Trump said in Richmond, that he will take all federal funds away from public schools that require vaccines," she tweeted. "Like most states, Virginia requires MMR vaccine, chickenpox vaccine, polio, etc. So Trump would take millions in federal funds away from all Virginia public schools."
This monster is way beyond crazy. Mumps, measles, small pox, chicken pox, polio etc. can run rampant. Another Fl legislator says parents decide if their kids infected with measles can go to school or not, not the school.

They would let the parents know so we could wear something that you could readily bare your shoulder. I remember a couple of years we actually got 'Shots' they had a gun like device that didn't use a needle at all. Just high pressure. Here is a write up.

Many of these same people who are screaming about vaccines and medical freedom likely never had to experience suffering from these diseases thanks to vaccines we all received growing up. And for military vets, there was extra doses of these vaccinations which I was glad to receive.
There is a large group of American citizens who seem to have no common sense or empathy for others and it is terrifying.

Will it be surprising to anyone if or when their children grow up and decapitate them?
Will it be surprising when this younger generation declines to care for their elderly in future years?
Will anyone be surprised when right-wing politicians are vaccinated on the sly leaving their constituents to treat measles, syphilis, antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea, covid, rabies, dengue and polio by drinking bleach?

(55,039 posts)It's all a money and marketing plan. Go to church for fire and brimstone. Why is anyone surprised? That's what they're selling.
Parishoners are the raw material. Give them what they paid for. Suffer. Pain. Death. Pay for funerals and burial plots.
By denying vaccines they are recreating the economic conditions and pestilence of 1600, when churches grew like wildfire.
If human problems are solved and peace breaks out, there is no pain and suffering. You grow old, you die. Ho-hum. Churches become irrelevant.

(24,166 posts)The Measles, Mumps, even probably Polio. The antivax movement has allies in Congress and it's going to result in thousands of sick children.
I came of age in the 70s and 80s, there were still remnants of prevaccine America. There was a guy in our neighborhood who had the Mumps when he was a kid so severely that it did brain damage, he never moved out of his parents and was never able to function as an adult. These diseases are dangerous, they will kill some, but they will have lifelong effects for many others.

I get it that ignorant people don't like being told what to do by a public health department. However, it is a bit different from being told what to wear, what to say, what to think, how to dress, and the thousand other tyrannies of a government by men, not laws. The former protects all of us. The latter just protects men holding power.
Sadly, media are more interested in playing "gotcha" with Democrats than they are in informing people about preventing deadly disease.

(5,454 posts)I was so sick I did not mind staying in bed for over a week. Aunt Lottie put me in her bed so she could tend to me during the night. At the same time, my 2 year old brother had measles and chicken pox at the same time. Mom would rock him all day long sitting in a rocking chair. When dad came home from work, he would hold him while mom made supper for the rest of the family. There were a couple times he stopped breathing so someone held him constantly. Both my parents thought he would not live he was so sick. Childhood diseases are nothing to take chances with, especially measles, small pox, and polio.
