Boebert, Colorado Republicans push recall effort against state official after Supreme Court's Trump ruling

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and a group of Colorado Republicans threatened Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold (D) with a recall effort after the Supreme Court shut down her attempt to bar former President Trump from the primary ballot.

A letter from Boebert and the other Republicans says Griswold “failed” when the high court ruled against the state, “creating a stain on our Republic and an outright embarrassment to Coloradans and Americans.”

“Instead of fulfilling her oath of office to encourage Coloradans to make their voices heard, she abused her office for selfish political decision to rig the primary election against President Donald J. Trump,” Boebert wrote.

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Colorado can’t remove Trump from the ballot under the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause, saying states don’t have the authority to do so. The state argued Trump should be disqualified because of his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran as an independent if she doesn’t win which looks very likely.
