No need to be defensive on her behalf. Did you perceive malice in my post? If so, you were wrong. Besides, even Fran Drescher knows that her voice is both grating and comedic. She has spoken many times about how her distinctive voice has been a defining characteristic of her comedic style and the characters she portrays. Drescher has embraced her unique voice, intentionally exaggerated it, and has used it to her advantage in building her career and creating memorable and funny characters.

In the slapstick scene where she accidentally eats an entire mouthful of wasabi... after she gets over the shock of having eaten something so hot, she comments (in a perfectly normal voice) how it clear up her sinuses, and wonders how long it will last... and in mid-sentence, her nasally voice returns. This is her gimmick... it's her "thing," right? Are we to ignore it, and never speak of it again (as if she's embarrassed by it and not wanting to hurt her feelings?)

I'm a longtime fan too. I was not attacking her. She did not need to be defended from me.
