A Glimpse Of The Apocalypse: Walmart Customers Fight Over Phones On Black Friday (VIDEO)

On Black Friday, discounted boxed smartphones seem to be the equivalent of dry foods in a post-apocalyptic movie.

This video, first spotted by the Telegraph, shows customers of a Walmart in Moultrie, Georgia, duking it out over discounted pay-as-you-go smartphones.

Walmart has announced that the big box retailer has completed a total of 10 million transactions between the hours of 8pm and midnight on Thursday, with electronics topping the list of best sellers, according to PhoneArena.

As you may already know, Black Friday was pushed up to Thursday evening this year.

wherein a lady finally got her phone and, as she was trying to get out of the melee, big asshole thug guy ripped it out of her hand and took off. Merry Christmas!

dumbasses need a "smart" phone.

The idea that these are crucial to our survival in order to keep track of our social networks,
calendars and email is just another lie

Don't have one, don't want one.

Firstly...the name sucks (except for a great Steely Dan tune) and is amplified when the skies are cloudy and the weather is cold. I'm more interested in a cup of hot chocolate than spending hours fighting lines, morons and poor customer service at some big box.

Add to that the image of people fighting and supplies running short of sale items and this can't help encourage people to finish their turkey early and sit in a line overnight to be the "first" for some Wally World bargain...which you can probably find online or at another retailer at the same or better price a couple of weeks from now. The corporates have tried to make this day a "big deal" in an over-saturated market of hype and greed. People are starting to question being driven like sheep...especially by corporates. The more people see how much it is a hassle to shop in a big box the less people will do it.

I hope people said "Merry Christmas" and not "happy holidays" after they trampled the guy next to them to grab a phone or whatever they are fighting over. How sad.
