So, who will be Trump's new VP?

According to YouGov, Republicans top choices are DeSantis, Cruz, Carson, Ramaswamy, or Scott.

My guess is that he will select a female. I will say that it will be Kristi Noem. If they win, we may have the first ever VP sue the President for sexual harassment.

Who do you think it will be?

Tim Scott might be a possibility, since he's been groveling and ass-kissing enthusiastically. He has little personality; he's kind of a Black Mike Pence, which is good because he won't upstage Himself. The fact that he's Black might be a deal-breaker, though, because TFG is old and crazy and if he does get elected he might die or be committed (or convicted of state crimes) while in office, which would make Scott president, and the MAGAts would be stuck with another Black president.

It will have to be someone who has never argued with, criticized or opposed TFG in any way - which rules out all primary challengers, past or present. That leaves only the most avid sycophants, who must at the same time be someone who won't steal the limelight; TFG hates that. So maybe not any of the howler monkey media whores like Marjorie Traitor Greene or Lauren Boebert or Matt Gaetz. Maybe Mike Johnson? He's White and a fanatical evangelical and he's boring and bland. He's another Mike Pence but even worse. We can count on TFG to whoose the very worst person, in any event.

There is no law saying that they can’t be from the same state… only that electors in that state can’t vote for both of them.

Even that is simple to fix. Bush/Cheyney were both from Texas yet had no trouble.

But I doubt it’s DeSantis. Better credentials for President… but lousy campaigner. And it isn’t as though Florida is in play

Anywhere he had a golf course would do.

But it really isn’t an issue. Not just because it won’t be DeSantis. The only
Impact would be that the VP slot loses FL’s electors. That could theoretically mean the VP slot rolls to Congress to pick - but I can’t imagine a scenario where Trump wins but we somehow control that process.

If he ends up in the slammer from getting convicted on over 20 felony counts, he could just call his residence a jail cell in New York. Problem easily solved. And doing so wouldn't hurt his election chances one bit. His adoring worshippers don't care if he's in prison. He could be languishing in solitary and he's still be the apple of their eyes.

around 2014, and explained how years ago running as a republican for local office in Honolulu wasn't getting him elected, He said he decided to run as a democrat, because in blue Hawaii, he stated democrats typically win the office their seeking, and that's what worked for him.

He was born in American Samoa, and appeared to have a huge beef with the U.S. presence on the island going back to WWII. He said by winning as a democrat, he could work his republicanism into his job.

I think Tulsi carries on with his bitterness about how islanders were treated as her dad taught her, and suspect she is running his democrat to republicans crossover scheme.

But Noem really doesn't bring much. And there are the Lewandowski rumors which everyone has denied and they're probably bullshit.

Gabbard might offer some interest to some younger voters and look bipartisan.

RFK Jr has flat out said he wouldn't accept the offer...

Tucker Carlson is probably hated more by women than Donald Trump.

Scott, Stefanik... no

If it weren't for the whole Florida problem... I'd suspect Trump is looking at Rep. Anna Paulina Luna... the former news-babe turned politician.

Possibly a wildcard?????

Matthew McConaughey blasted the "illiberal left" and defended the MAGA base in 2020... has spoken of a political future and in 2011 admitted that "Celebrity Apprentice" was on his DVR at home.

Trump would love a "showman" pick... it's not 2016, he doesn't have to pick a Pence to make Party officials happy... he can go with a protege.

37. There are a few possibilities.
Thu Mar 7, 2024, 09:51 AM
Mar 2024

The first being that TSF will play it like “The Apprentice”. Garnering even more free time in the MSM and here in teh DU. If this is the course look for him to ultimately choose some old white male milquetoast who doesn’t threaten his gigantic soap bubble of an ego. Speaker Johnson would fill the bill in this case.

Another possibility is that like every other dictatorship in recorded history, he won’t have a VP or heir apparent. Too risky that they have their own little coup. If this course is taken, look for the SCrOTUS to approve the move 9-0 because the need for a VP to be chosen as part of a ticket isn’t specified in the US Constitution. As a backup plan, the SCrOTUS may say that since she was the second highest GrOPper delegate holder, Nikki Haley is the de facto VP. Alternately, they could rule that having Mike Johnson dual hatted as second in line is plenty good. Ever notice how “acting” is so often good enough for the GrOPpers?

The last possibility I had entertained (and the most likely) is that his oligarch patrons will insist on insuring their ROI by hand selecting a shadow to make sure TSF finds his way out of a window and takes his place in the inevitable future where TSF can not be counted on to do their bidding in a timely manner. These people are not playing around or by the “rules”.

Prove me wrong.

He’s a crook who’s under indictment and who’s great at using time and his position office to protect himself. Trump, of course, loves all that.
2) Texas has 40 electoral votes

The only thing against him as far as Trump is concerned is that he’s strong. Trump doesn’t like having strong people around him. He’s too weak and paranoid for that. (He’s also too dumb to notice that everyone around him is just using him to get power and wealth for themselves. )
