Turning a SOTU into a political speech was brilliant...

Some might say too political but I think it was shrewd.

This was an opportunity to get in front of the camera and DESTROY the "too old" narrative...

He sees the polls... it's better to go after Trump NOW and not wait til the campaign trail with so many fewer cameras and viewers.

Outstanding strategy... big hat tip to the Biden strategists.

I expect the polls to show some movement ASAP.

This was a huge opportunity to lay out his vision for America to a wide audience, and no doubt a lot of people tuned in to see if he was "up to it" -- which he was.

As for making it political -- as I just heard Dana Bash say on CNN, "Some people said it was too political -- other people might say, compared to what?" And then she referenced MTG sitting there in her MAGA hat. Indeed, it's the modern GOP that wanted to turn the SOTU into a disrespectful spectacle, so it's hardly an issue for Biden to push back on that. They gave him the opportunity to do this, and he took it, and then some.

And possibly... turned on some middle of the road undecideds.. if there are any.

It was exceptional... delivered well. Not Obama-like... but classic trademark "Joe".

Time to write an obituary for the "Joe is too old" meme.

....so they could trip him up. But he was prepared. It's why Johnson cautioned them not to do any shenanigans, he knew it would get thrown back at them. They are a one trick pony and were completely predictable.
