I didn't see it that way so much as I saw a man telling truth to the deaf, low energy huddle of do-nothing-but-whine-and-bully Republicans sitting on their hands in a sad and impotent kind of shame. They learned a mirror can be used for else but vanity. Even MTG's predictable outburst of pointlessness was flat on its face as the realization of imminent failure clambered into the lightless recesses of their hive mind.
This was the speech that wrote itself on January 21, 2021. It was aggressive only to those hearing their fate read clearly. It was political only for those bearing a bull's eye target for extinction on their wracked and cringing centers of mass. Hysteria and hypnosis wearing off in the cold sweat of realization.

He wasn't defiant, he was expounding on his well-earned political capital. Taking on SCOTUS, saying he'll restore Roe given the chance, is an appeal to Democratic voters to make it happen. It's like a baseball relief pitcher telling his manager, "Give me the ball!"

To be explicit: This speech is an indication that the Biden Campaign and the DNC think they may have an opportunity to make this a watershed election, and they plan to drive this bus at increasing speed in a real Cannonball Run into the late fall. Could we paint America blue? Gain dozens of seats in the House? I wouldn't say it's likely, but I would say it's possible, and the chance is more than low single digits. After all, Republicans are hell bent on driving their extremist agenda of hatred, coercion, and depravity to the max. And who knows how Donald Trump will implode by the fall?

Joe Biden was a real tribal warrior last night. He told us Democrats who we are, and motivated us to support him with everything we can muster.
