Messi gets the final word on the Oscars by “peeing” on Matt Damon’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The dog of the Oscars got the last shot of the Oscars, too.

Messi was the belle of the ball at this year’s Oscars, stealing hearts by wearing a bow tie, clapping for Robert Downey Jr.’s big Best Actor win, and getting the last word on the ceremony by “peeing” on Matt Damon’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star. That’s right: our good boy Messi closed out the show.
In case you missed it, after host Jimmy Kimmel signed off for the evening, as credits rolled we got some shots of the stage, a montage of scenes from throughout the ceremony, and then a shot of the Hollywood Walk of Fame star for Matt Damon. The camera panned out, and there was Messi, one leg cocked, looking concerned about whether his favorite actor Matt Damon would be upset about this bit.
Don’t worry, Messi, this is part of a several decades-long “feud” between Kimmel and Damon that has cropped up multiple times on Kimmel’s show – and even every time Kimmel has hosted the Oscars. In fact, it was pretty suspicious that, despite Damon starring in one of the big nominees (that would be Oppenheimer), Damon wasn’t called out or involved by Kimmel in any way.
Turns out they were saving the best for last, finally revealing Messi about to relieve himself on the star. Of course, Messi would never do that… The incredible Anatomy of a Fall canine star is well-behaved, whether at an Oscars luncheon, a reading of the movie, or clearly on set where he gave the performance of a lifetime.
