"SNIP..........
NBC News: Since he hit the campaign trail in early March, according to an NBC review of Trumps speeches, interviews, video posts and face-to-face interactions with voters, the front-runner for the Republican Partys 2024 nomination has used the name of the party he seeks to represent in sparing fashion and typically to disparage other party luminaries.
Said Steve Bannon: Fox News and Mitch McConnell and the Republican donors have basically signed a pledge to stop Trump at any opportunity. So, why should he be touting the Republican Party? He shouldnt be loyal to the Republican Party. They havent been loyal to him theyve scheduled 10 primary debates to wound him.
In essence, according to advisers and allies, Trump is returning to the anti-establishment themes of his successful 2016 bid for the presidency that rallied voters to slay the favorite totems, orthodoxies and candidates of both parties.

Should we survive this election, it will be fascinating to see what becomes of the former Republican Party.

(55,334 posts)First off, I wouldn't disparage Trump's talent for knowing how and when to time his manipulation of the public. If he's sliding away from the Republican brand on the eve of becoming the official Republican nominee, it's because his subhuman but fox-like instincts tell him the brand is weak, at least among the magats he appeals to.
But why is an article now talking about the party scheduling debates? The debating part of the nomination race is long over with. Any future debates will be mostly under Trump's control.
And why is the article talking about McConnell and the GOP establishment failing to support Trump? Every single one of them has bent the knee, kissed the ring, and polished the starfish in deferance to their own personal orban.
Did this article somehow slip over from a parallel universe onto our reality's internet?

(28,836 posts)He's always run as an outsider where the party is concerned. Everything is always about Trump, and the party is just a tool to further that. Anyone who objects or interferes is the enemy, including within the party. Especially within the party. Rubio, Cruz, Romney, the RNC, the GOP establishment, etc.
