The Republican National Committee is cutting loose dozens of staffers less than a week after Michael Whatley was elected chair of the RNC and Lara Trump was elected as co-chair. Trump is the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, who facilitated the ouster of the previous chair, Ronna McDaniel.
On Monday, Politico broke the news of the shakeup in a report titled Bloodbath at RNC:
All told, the expectation is that more than 60 RNC staffers who work across the political, communications and data departments will be let go. Those being asked to resign include five members of the senior staff, though the names were not made public. Additionally, some vendor contracts are expected to be cut
The overhaul is aimed at cutting, what one of the people described as, bureaucracy at the RNC. But the move also underscores the swiftness with which Trumps operation is moving to take over the Republican Partys operations after the former president all but clinched the partys presidential nomination last week.
The appointment of Lara Trump has been met with accusations of nepotism. Moreover, Trump raised eyebrows last month when she said every penny raised by the RNC should be devoted to reelecting her father-in-law, down-ballot races be damned.

Obviously those 60 employees had to go so their salaries could go to the Fat Orange.

(12,501 posts)What percentage of the total staff at the RNC this represents? Or if it's unusual to do this in an election cycle? Just curious.

That trDUMP campaign jet traveling from Hilter Rally to Hitler Rally sucks up a lot of jet fuel. Let the RNC pick up that tab too.

a purge that took place in Nazi Germany from 30 June to 2 July 1934. Chancellor Adolf Hitler, urged on by Hermann Göring and Heinrich Himmler, ordered a series of political extrajudicial executions intended to consolidate his power and alleviate the concerns of the German military about the role of Ernst Röhm and the Sturmabteilung (SA), the Nazis' paramilitary organization, known colloquially as "Brownshirts".

This is practice. If elected, we'll see actual executions.
Just think of DOJ, EPA, all the alphabet agencies, filled with Reich-winger replacements. There's already a ton of moles in the Executive from the first try.

Thats why people are furious right now. And they see the attacks against him. They feel like its an attack not just on Donald Trump but on this country, she said. So yeah I think that is a big interest to people, absolutely ...
