Marjorie Traitor Greene Celebrates The 'Bloodbath at the RNC'

In the past 24 hours, over 60 staffers lost their jobs at the Republican National Committee after Donald Trump's daughter in law, Lara Trump, became the new chairwoman of the RNC. According to the politico article announcing the major cuts, the RNC will merge much of its operations with the Trump campaign in an effort to streamline its budget. As it stands, the RNC was bleeding cash with less than $10 million in the bank at the end of last year. Many of these staffers will now be without a job as a result of the new leadership pushing them out.

In response, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene celebrated and announced that "MAGA is now in control of the Republican Party!!" Despite what public reports may say about streamlining budget, Greene's statement makes clear that the likely reason behind the resignation stemmed from the attempt to remake the RNC in Donald Trump's image.

Whether Lara Trump is able to turn around this sinking ship remains a mystery, but one thing's for sure, Marjorie Taylor Greene is right: the Republican Party is now the Party of MAGA and Trump.

I personally think it's a great thing for the Democratic Party for November, and maybe beyond. If TSF wrecks his party structure, it could mean fewer GOPhers in the House, Senate, governors' seats--even statehouses. Maybe we could accomplish some long-overdue reforms then. That would make me smile! It would be even more pleasurable to hear GOPhers whine (although we might need earplugs to muffle it.)

Life runs in cycles and we are due for such a cycle, a quantum leap forward, and I view Biden as our FDR. Of course like you, I am cautiously optimistic. The last 20 years have been unnerving, so I am conditioned to expect the unexpected. I could have never imagined Donald Trump.

MTG is the queen of the malapropism!

Wikipedia: A malapropism (also called a malaprop, acyrologia, or Dogberryism) is the incorrect use of a word in place of a word with a similar sound, either unintentionally or for comedic effect, resulting in a nonsensical, often humorous utterance.

So far, she's come up with:

- gazpacho police
- peach tree dish
And now:
- title wave

Have there been any others that I missed?

In feeling very sorry for all of the Republican moderates like Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney who have to watch the implosion of their party. I don't think they deserved this. My boss was a Republican because his parents were Republican and it didn't occur to him to be anything else. Not a racist bone in his body. Totally LGBTQ ally. Possibly pro-Choice (I don't remember) Hates Trump. To me, he represented a new moderate, educated Republican that I could see working across the aisle. There are lots of Republican policies that I hate. But I do not hate all Republicans.

I got a good acoustic guitar when Rubber Soul came out. I was 12. Traded in my Green Stamps Kay acoustic. Didn't want to plagiarize the greatest band in history by using "Soul". But it's a way to pay a small tribute to a transformative album in their maturation. (Especially since it took me a year to figure out how to tune that original guitar.)

All of these people have brought about their party's trump-by-lethal-injection death.
They forgot that their leader would eventually put the squeeze on them, and then throw them all under the bus.
Now their election small donors know what's up and won't even bother anymore.
Now these election deniers will be themselves denied RNC election money in 2024.

The dems MAY re-capture the House, but keeping the Senate will be a very heavy lift. While winds may be in our sails nationally, the electoral map has too many blue seats to defend while red seats are deeply entrenched and mostly safe.

Unless young voters start believing the existential threat of a christo-fascist takeover, November will be sad indeed. I have not met anyone under 40 who likes either candidate. Whether they hold their nose and vote Biden (or vote at all) can not be counted on to deliver 270 electoral votes.

I am terrified that emboldened Republican state legislatures will block certification in states that Biden wins under the pretense of fraud (again). The fake challenges are now baked into the process.

In short...the dream of a semi-permanent majority and the demise of the radical conservatives is way too optimistic. Those voters will be there to follow the next dog-whistling autocrat.

Commentators said the same thing in 2008 with the Obama victory.
