NY-14: Ocasio-Cortez facing primary challenge from Wall Street veteran

Wall Street veteran Marty Dolan is launching a long-shot primary challenge against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).

“The Radicals can’t deliver more than breadcrumbs when they ignore that the primary breadwinners are leaving and brush off taxpayer concerns in favor of abstract populist ideologies. Enough is enough,” he wrote in his campaign announcement.

“New Yorkers have seen it all, including scams like the Radicals offer. But we know better that New Yorkers want NYC to be the best city in the best country in the world,” he added.

According to his campaign website, Dolan worked in the global risk insurance sector and has been a financial adviser, a strategist and investor for the past 40 years. He had previously launched a challenge to Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) in New York’s 16th Congressional District, but switched districts after New York county executive George Latimer joined the race, Bloomberg reported.

He sounds like one of those stealth candidates that will flip to the GOPS once elected. LuvLoogie Mar 2024 #1

Marty sounds like a real man of the people:

In his spare time, Marty studies history, is an avid competitive golfer, film writer, restorer of old homes, and a lifelong baseball and Grateful Dead fan!

I'm guessing he switched from the 16th to the 14th district because his Wall Street buddies couldn't recruit a serious candidate to take on AOC. He's a Democrat for the same reasons Trump was in the 90s

He’s a Wall Street elitist and very likely will switch GOP once elected.

He's everything wrong with the world and is carpetbagging against someone who wants to hold corporations accountable. Probably just a coincidence that he worked on Wall Street. That's that ticket.

He has no chance and is probably trying to piggyback of AOC’s status for name recognition
