(6,637 posts)of impropriety is an issue. And it is. She should have known better. As bright as she is, she had a blind spot when it came to what it would look like if she didn't say anything up front about the relationship.
Yes, it was private. But privacy between two people trying the case does not make for an appearance of propriety. How she could not have known that someone so evil as Trump would bring it up is beyond me. She is lucky to have that ethical judge and not Judge Cannon.

(3,138 posts)And that's what Judge Empty Suit just rewarded. He's not "ethical" - he's rewarding a wrongheaded smear campaign, based on an irrelevancy. Fuck him.

(7,604 posts)She paid because, as Wonder Why said, she didn't think that Donny's evil would reach her. Donny is saturated with evil. He is consumed by it. Fani didn't see it coming. Her mistake. She took the hit. I expect that, from this point forward, she will be focused like never before. She'll make Donny feel the pain, and Donny will end up wishing he should have kept his mouth shut.

(6,637 posts)judge, a SCOTUS judge, or a media member, your or my "how" counts for nothing. It's only those I mentioned that can affect the final outcome.
It's not her supporters like you and I that will have our opinion of her change.

(26,144 posts)excellent in her job. I can't understand why they think that they can interfere w/ a prosecutor's job. Their job is, after all, when someone commits a crime, to gather the evidence, prosecute them in a trial, and if successful, sentence them. That is going after justice after all.

They miscalculated badly. I hope it costs them. Even a relative slap on the wrist of 6 months in a GA state pen will go a long way toward breaking him to the point he starts making a lot of obvious mistakes.

(105,821 posts)No, this was not "all they've done" - they've delayed the trial by 2 months while this section of farce played out, and they've got the resignation of her deputy, which will slow things down more, as the replacement comes up to speed.
I mean, this isn't "half-glass full" stuff, it's "I love getting half a glass of foam rather than beer, it's more refreshing!!!".
sheshe2
(96,605 posts)If you have read any of his post, he is pretty much spot on and knowledgeable. He was having some fun tonight as you can see from the stilettos gif.
Of course she is angry, we all are at the delay. I am pretty sure she prepared for this and will be moving forward on this without delay. My guess is she already planned for a replacement for Wade and he/she is up to speed.
My humble opinion as an anonymous poster on the internet.

(105,821 posts)but prosecutors need to be methodical and persuasive, not angry. I think Willis will keep any anger she has out of the case.

...while Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is allowed to keep his seat, despite the "appearance of impropriety" in accepting possibly millions in gifts from billionaires, without recusing himself.
Isn't it a "lapse of judgement" for Thomas to opine on January 6th cases, while his own wife attempted to overturn the 2020 election?
