Dear @nytimes,
Good morning. How are you? Im just wondering why in todays paper theres no mention of Mike Pence, Donald Trumps former veep (as you know), saying he wont endorse Trump. Not on the front page. Not inside. Seems kinda big. Are you okay?
Sincerely,
Concerned

This is happening on an increasingly-frequent basis. I'm not sure why. Part of me thinks it's intentional and that they just assume no one will bother checking.

(116,635 posts)that went to press before the story broke; that happens with hard-copy newspapers. NYT kinda sucks these days with their wishy-washy both-sides stories, but busting on them for this is stupid. Corn should have known better and checked the online version.

(25,687 posts)Not checking it is either laziness or intentional ignorance.
From Wikipedia:
"As of February 2024, The New York Times has 10.36 million subscribers, with 9.7 million online subscribers and 660,000 print subscribers"

Revealing intentional ignorance or laziness? Such hurtful terms. Maybe, it's simply a problem with reading comprehension.
We should all sit back and, taking a deep breath, grok on the concept that words usually imply their essential definition. Shall we proceed in a world illuminated by our hypertensive preconceptions or enable reality to reveal itself through observation?
I feel the healing already, you?

(7,059 posts)Don't really get the rest of your post....... accented, bolded and underlined, priorities. Explain.
Cool kids? What is that cryptic nominal expression supposed to mean?
Ripping? huh?

(250 posts)The incredible bias that the NYT has shown to Trumpism finally got to me. After twenty years I cancelled my subscription two weeks ago. Their website gave me a field to state my reason, and I didn't hold back.

(2,536 posts)The 1%'ers want that orange, fat narcissist back in the WH because he gives them EVERYTHING they want. Pollution, no taxes (NOT LOW, NO). Let them spew their racist bullshit 24/7. Heartless creatures, really. Gas prices are creeping back up. Oil companies admitted in a tweet that the President doesn't control the prices at the pump. Those nasty F's definitely want the creep back.

(111,815 posts)You'd think this would be screamed out by every single news outlet in the country.
Here's a selection of front pages: https://www.frontpages.com/us-newspapers//
Consider what would happen if Harris announced she couldn't endorse Biden. How many days of screaming headlines do you think publishers would get out of that one? There would be speculation and speculation about the speculation, reporters following her around, screaming questions at her, reporting on facial expressions.
With Pence refusing to endorse TFG, crickets. Pence is the only non relative who spent all 4 years close to TFG. This is kind of a big deal, fellas. What the hell is the matter with you all? No wonder newspapers are going under with this level of reporting on real news instead of sex and violence. You guys drunk? Doped? Asleep? Rabidly corrupt?
