In Tr**p's Fight For Presidential Immunity - Has Anybody Suggested To Him That His Fighting For This.....

would allow Joe Biden - who is the current President - to jail or assassinate Tr**p - if he -Tr**p wins this argument in the Supreme Court?

I'd be curious to see how Tr**p or any of his lawyers would try and answer that question.

They have. They'll run this like Bush v Gore -- a ruling for "just this one case." So it wouldn't apply to Biden. ancianita Mar 2024 #6

Biden to have a Democratic majority who would then overturn the decision but not make it retroactive.

I think that kind of logic would be hard to swing, but even if it happens...

If I were a sociopathic president who encountered such a ruling, I'd simply respond, "Oh yes it does!"
and the supreme court and all unfriendly senators would promptly disappear. You can work out what
happens from there on.

I give Mr Biden much more credit for astuteness and capability, so something more interesting would
probably happen.

Absolutely immunity makes a president above the law. SCOTUS has already proven it can corrupt rule of law on occasion when they want their oligarchic paymasters to win.

Wishing and hoping won't make SCOTUS any less corrupt than it's already become.

If the SC says a president has immunity forever does that mean President Biden could have them all arrested and thrown in jail forever? Or worse?

If SC rules there is presidential immunity what prevents a President from ignoring any SC court ruling they do not like.

The truth of the matter Trump is unwilling to modify his behavior to fit the Constitution.

For some 230+ years, this was not an issue until Donald Trump.

Good one - I at least hadn't thought of that.

If Trump's motion succeeds AND he wins the presidency, the Supreme Court are his slaves.
They must then issue whatever rubberstamps he wants, or they are goners. Trump will have no end of
lawyers ready to step into their shoes.

I have been suspecting the current SC is planning on ruling the country from the bench, so they be surprised.
One hopes they think this all through.

means the President can do what he wants and is free to make the country over in his own image. It would be the end of the US as we know it. There is no US law that would restrain him. I'm assuming they won't (or can't) make him immune to international law, but nothing surprises me these days. I HAVE to believe they aren't stupid enough to do this, but I'm on record as stating that no SC would order that vote counting in a Presidential election be stopped, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

IDK how but there's probably some way they can, for now...

But if so, then after Biden wins and Trump loses, Joe can order Elon to build a spacecraft and shoot 6 of them off to Mars and then have Seal Team 6 eliminate Trump.

while we're at it, why not have Elon manufacture multiple spacecrafts to send several MAGATs off to Mars, or if they prefer the Moon, or Venus. Hell, it doesn't matter to me, so long as NASA can shoot them off way yonder.

Yup, this works for me.

Orbiting the newly renamed planet, Trumpanus, with its one MAGA inhabitant, might be a better assignment for them.

I mean, they’ve certainly had enough practice hete on Earth to qualify.

It would probably be a much better fit, if you will …
