General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHas anyone done and research on how many bankruptcies Trump has caused? My search didn't conjure up
anything published about that, just his six. I've heard a few stories including one guy committing suicide when Trump put his business under but no compilation of his destruction.

(13,888 posts)This is the stuff from mastadon. It's only those businesses he tried and failed at. This does not count all the businesses he stiffed and because of that bankruptcy ensued. I would guestimate at least 16 times this number.
Dear New York Times et al,
He was never a successful businessman.
1. He inherited 400 million dollars and turned that into zero dollars.
2. He went bankrupt 7 times.
3. Some of those bankruptcies were casinos, literally a license to print money which he couldn't manage.
4. He conned kids with cancer out of money once. That's why he can't run a charity anymore.
5. The following business ventures no longer exist or are insolvent:
a. Trump Steaks
b. Trump University
c. Trump Mortgage
d. Trump Vodka
e. Trump: The Game
f. Trump Ice
g. GoTrump.com
h. Trump Magazine

6. Of the 16 companies that were manufacturing Trump-branded products in 2015, only 2 remain in business less than 10 years later. Neither of those companies are American. One is located in Panama and the other is located in Turkey.
Stop saying "successful businessman". My little company founded in 2014 has been in business longer, employs more people, and makes more income than 99% of his ventures. The difference between him and me is access to capital, which means he gets unlimited bites at the apple, and I get just this one if I'm lucky.

(10,353 posts)Im not talking about the Trump-organized or Trump-franchised organizations listed here. Im thinking of the many, many Trump business partners and Trump subcontractors his crooked business practices who lost money or were driven into insolvency by his business practices.
I live here in Texas. From time to time I see pickups and vans belonging to small building, plumbing and electrical subcontractors still sporting pro-Trump bumper stickers. I see them, shake my head, and sigh, thinking G*d Almighty, fella! Dont you know or care about the hundreds of people just like you that your guy ruined? Why on Gods Green Earth do you think hell be good for you or good for the country? He doesnt deserve your support!

Hillary Clinton
On occasion four times we used certain laws that are there.
Donald Trump
THE FACT CHECKER | Clinton is correct.
Trumps companies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which means a company can remain in business while wiping away many of its debts. The bankruptcy court ultimately approves a corporate budget and a plan to repay remaining debts; often shareholders lose much of their equity.

(15,359 posts)I've heard a number of the stories about his dealings where he forces contractors to settle for way less than the job was worth. That had to have put some of them under. I'd like to see a complete list.
