Proud to have been associated with the group protesting Kyle rittenhouse at the university of Memphis. A huge success in getting him to walk out in the middle of our questioning.

(43,224 posts)...it's not like there's ever been any high profile association with gun violence or civil protests when it comes to Kent State.

(16,889 posts)The fact that Rittenhouse even has a platform speaks to the insanity of the GOP.

(7,927 posts)Turning Point is a front group for Koch and several other RW Xians with more money than GOD to spew downwards on those Americans not in the Elite Rich Xian class. Rittenhouse can't debate because he's got no mind, no meaning other than hate, and no spine, and he knows that.

(83 posts)as well as other despicable and objectionable groups on campus, even neo-nazis. The University is not paying them. This article from KentWired does not specify, but usually these groups are invited by a student group on campus. This has been a contentious issue for many years but the GOP led state legislature would likely reduce state funding to the public universities if they do not allow all comers to campus.
The universitys response shared by Emily Vincent, the universitys media relations director, to KentWired said, As with any speaker invited to our campus, the university does not endorse or condone an opinion or point of view represented by the speaker, nor does the university advocate for any topic the speaker might discuss during their visit to campus.
The universitys statement said, As a state university, we permit groups and individuals to speak and share their views on our campus about topics they feel are important.
Was he crying as he left the stage? That poor dog deserves a better human!

(1,081 posts)The whole thing is a troll. That's why they book U of Memphis (home of the National Civil Rights Museum, and where MLK Jr was murdered by rifle) and Kent State, with the famous shootings of antiwar protesters. They want to be disrupted so they can point and say "Look how the left shuts down free speech." The whole thing is so stupid. In this case, it was Rittenhouse's TPUSA handler who "called" the talk over when people started chanting "deflection." The whole point is to have the speech/talk disrupted, so the handler pulled him at the slightest hint of disruption (the chanting).
It's amazing that these idiots spend their time with these pathetic trolling operations.

(17,865 posts)they didn't have TP a free speech talking point by attempting to exercise the heckler's veto, that TP wouldn't just insert false flag operatives.
I would instruct signs only unless TP prevents a question or answer session or better yet an opportunity to debate.
The real criticism should be leveled at the police that night that allowed a bunch of unvetted morons to carry semiautomatic rifles at low ready in an attempt to provoke protestors. I think Rittenhouse is slime but I can understand why the jury came to its conclusion. He should have never been there with his rifle, but in our insane country that is apparently legal. I also wonder how he is the only active shooter ever to be given the benefit of the doubt when it came to attempting to stop him from leaving while still carrying his weapon.

(1,081 posts)I once went to see Dinesh D'Souza do a YAF talk at a (Big Unnamed State University). There were about a dozen YAFers and young Republicans, another dozen old conservative townies, and 100 protesters/hostile question-askers.
But jeez, at least D'Souza could put a couple of sentences together, even if he is otherwise a giant shitbag. How far we've fallen from even those (fairly recent) halcyon days of right wing campus dipshittery. Now they put on a no-credential clown like Rittenhouse just to own the libs. If Rittenhouse can construct a coherent paragraph without a grammatical error I'd be shocked. William F. Buckley would be embarrassed by the TP USA crowd.

(1,390 posts)They only say they want the disruption after they get the shock of learning that the people who oppose their views vastly outnumber those who support them. They go in thinking, 'This time--This time!--we'll show those liberals how stupid and useless and inferior they are, and they'll change their minds and thank us for showing them the light. Just you wait and see!'
I know that's how they think, because I've had the misfortune of living in a few red areas during my lifetime. I've heard what they say before they go into battle against the 'evil libtards.' And I've been there after they were on the losing end of trying to persuade liberals of how stupid they are. It's after a good bollocksing when they trot out dishonest excuses such as, 'We wanted the disruption.' AKA 'We meant to do that!'
Always how it works with them.

(15,392 posts)He thinks he's qualified to lecture others. That he's owed that kind of life because he was fêted by the GOP. Yes, he's being bankrolled still, but he's still a snot-nosed punk who is only famous because he thought he was a big man with a gun, and people are dead because of him. EVEN if it were 100% clear that he was in the right, everyone believed had no choice, etc. what kind of ghoul capitalizes on that kind of fame? The same for George Zimmerman. What do these guys offer? Nothing.
