if they don't need to be re-elected. We are always losing the best of them (that being a very low bar). i'm guessing the fear of Trump goes beyond being primaried to the very safety of their families. Or we are just down to a particularly spineless lot, even the ones leaving.

if they stay and do the right thing, they'll be stuck in a losing, expensive campaign against some magat. even their leaving at this point in time is a statement and i'll take it.

i don't know this guy at all, don't even know if he was a reasonable republican. but it is telling that these people are leaving before their term ends. hopefully some R voters are paying attention and starting to figure out why.

before they go. They could fund the government. Instead they leave it to people who won't do that.

He is one of 3 Republicans who voted not to impeach Mayorkas. That means he has a line somewhere. Not where I'd like it to be, but some degree of sanity. Probably he's feeling heat from that and doesn't like it.

that i think these republicans care about anything but themselves. along with hypocrisy, projection, and fascism, a hallmark of any republican is its complete disregard for democracy or the public good. with vanishingly rare exceptions, republicans suck.

Encourage the others who want out of the circus to hit the road.

Emptying out his office is probably the tip of the iceberg of daily life in the all new Republican Trump Party.

I hadn't seen a picture of him. Good looking dude. Given his politics and his age, that scares me in the same way Kinzinger scares me.

Wisconsin rules. The seat will stay open until the general election in Nov. Any seats empty after the 2nd Tuesday in April does not get a special.

.......running again and losing your office and some of your retirement pay. (Seems crazy, I know)
This was back in the glory days when the Democrats held both houses, pre Gingrich. So I guess the idea was to entice Dems to retire. If this is still the same it looks to me like this clever scheme has come back to bite them.
