Morning Joe has Caroline Polisi saying he has it. Then why hasn't he already paid it. Why is he fighting it?
They are suggesting he will file for bankruptcy. Yet he could pay the bond money?

I should also add that they now know he is a financial risk when the charges are based on bank/financial fraud. How much more will it cost Trump if they approve it compared to a low risk bond? And the likelihood that Trump fails to repay they will have to go thru seizing his properties to get their money back.
Also, I'm sure Letitia James would love for Trump to come up with the money so she doesn't have to do the work of seizing the properties.

(9,535 posts)... that once he hands over that half-billion dollars, it's gone.
TBH, I doubt he has that much liquid cash. The court's monitor should know. I think all his properties are already leveraed to the hilt and even if he DOES have cash-on-hand, he probably needs to: 1) Fund his ridculous lifestyle, and 2) Pay debt payments. He kites loans to fund his living expenses (lots of rich people do to take advantage of tax benefits). He doesn't have money just sitting around. Anything he has already has someone else's name on it.

(20,896 posts)When it is money from his pile(so to speak), he would rather spend someone else's instead.
Hie entire EGO is wrapped up in money, property, and other assets. The term PAPER RICH, MONEY POOR comes to play here. A blow to his EGO, with the choices he has before him, are not good choices. Nor does his holding out and the "I TOLD YOU SO" game does him no favors as well. In the short term with his base perhaps, but not in the long run.
To understand TSF, we have to THINK like him.
