It is ongoing, constant and unrelenting. There is no possibility of a truce any more. "Bi-partisan" should be struck from the Democratic political vocabulary. Not because we have changed, but because THEY have. And not for the better.

Even with the Blue Tsunami in 2024, the struggle continues to every election after that. That struggle extends to every political level in this country where a vote can be cast; from President of the United States all the way down to member of the municipal library board.

but I have given up on any expectation that our courts will hold or that they will do anything but bow down to that orange man.

He appears to not be subject to laws, rules, norms or anything.

I see a lot of unnecessary hand wringing and pearl clutching, but so far haven’t seen anyone proclaim they are giving up.

not necessarily giving up on the election fight ahead.

For me, nothing has changed. Holding that mf accountable has always been a long shot BUT I still demand and expect justice. I don't think we should loosen up on our demands and expectations of how a coup plotter should be treated.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
