Next time, do that to a 6'4" tall burly redneck, instead of someone you're fairly sure you can take down in a fist fight, like women and children.

(265 posts)And we think repubs act like arrogant assholes in public? Harassing an elderly woman, no matter what their political affiliations, is not funny, cool or laudable. Would you feel the same sense of revelry if a Republican did the same thing to an elderly African-American women outside a grocery store?
EDIT:
And BTW: You CAN go to hell

By the way, if you don't mind my asking, how does it reference the original post in the thread? I feel like I was rick rolled, but in a good way where I heard a cool band.
Edited to add: Ah, I get it now. The song is called Black Cloud. And I googled that Joe guy and he was a black cloud. Funny post. I'm now checking out more Trapeze.

RKP5637
(67,112 posts)and especially, as you say, after this election cycle! Here's the weird part that always gets me ... I live in a very R state which I am planning to move out of ... the people here are pleasant ... you meet them in stores, etc., do business with them, etc., very pleasant for the most part. Then they vote, they vote in a teabagger governor, they vote in a super-teabagger state legislature, and same for congress. They won't even vote for republican moderates. I don't like it, because it tells me that what's operating under the surface is not something I want to be around, so I'm getting out.
I think it must be the 7x24 pounding of republican ideals. It's hard to escape it IMO and sucks in people that do not pay a lot of attention to what is really going on. ... they almost subconsciously get sucked in ... it's a form of brain washing going on ... And then they become hardcore teabaggers with those qualities you mentioned.

(22,336 posts)I don't think this actually happened. If it did, you deserved to be told to go to hell. But no one talks like that. And what, you stopped by her car and got her attention and pointed at her sticker? This just seems like an improbable kind of conversation. People don't do this, or use the word "white" as a noun for that matter.
How old are you? Is there some age group using "white" as a noun? Is this common where you are? I've never heard this. I guess I'm curious about that just as a language issue, not as flame bait. I have never heard that word used like that. I think I have heard "black" used like that, but only in a very racist context.

(794 posts)An "old white" huh? I hope that you made it clear that age and color doesn't matter and the election showed it. Re-electing President Barack Obama showed that Americans are moving beyond ignorant bigotry directed at people because of the color of their skin or their age.
You made that clear, right?
I hope so- otherwise that old white won't be able to understand the evils of bigotry.
Whew!
I'm glad there's open minded people out there like you to set old whites straight.

(17,609 posts)Americans are moving beyond bigotry! Although,I don't agree with specifying the color necessarily. I say what is the problem with this post and everyone with this "we are better than them" I still say fuck em!
These people are the reason we are having the problems we are having now and if they would have won they would not be so gracious to us they would dig the knife in deeper. This is why Democrats keep getting their asses kicked!

I wonder what the reaction on this thread would have been if he had said "old white man" instead of "old white woman".
