Any coherent person would realize what they are saying. Not that he has ever been coherent, but he used to say the wrong word and then correct himself by restating the wrong word and then saying the right word, like they were interchangeable. To me, it means his mind is working less than usual when he can say these things and not realize how crazy it sounds.

I dread getting to that point. I have a TBI, and I have a lot of memory problems. Also, hallucinations. With those two coupled, I can only imagine what having dementia is like. It was hard on the outside and watching my grandpa. It is terrifying on the inside, and I do not even have it. I only have echoes of it.
