Excerpt is below. I think the plan is to make it highly favorable to conservatives and get rid of the kids on TikTok who are not fans of the GOP. The GOP doesn't want the kids talking. Plus Mnuchin feels he can make some money along the way. My take is he has no idea what is involved in making an app like TikTok.

The plan would require Mnuchin to rebuild a service built on billions of lines of code including the popular video apps coveted recommendation algorithm an idea observers said suggests a lack of familiarity with how tech companies actually work."

(1,896 posts)He sees what Truth Social did to make Trump (theoretically) rich again with a handful of servers, some open source code, and an operating loss over ten times their gross revenue and thinks he can replicate that success. All he needs is to fake it until he can take it public somehow.
