'That's insane': Trump slammed for 'comparing his plight to that of Jesus' before Easter

Donald Trump just shared an article comparing himself to Jesus, one day before Easter celebrations. Trump, who has long been accused of narcissism that equates to blasphemy for some Christians, on Saturday posted an article to his Truth Social platform that makes the religious comparison. Truth Social is the ex-president's social media company, which recently went public but is expected by some experts to tank. The article that Trump shared is titled, "The Crucifixion of Donald Trump."

"One of the basic tenets of the law is determining who the victim is. There quite literally doesn’t appear to be one in the New York case, but the judge rendered a guilty verdict anyway. The judge determined a penalty in the staggering amount of $455 million. With interest, Trump was told he had to pay $464 million within 30 days, regardless of whether he intended to appeal.

If he failed to secure payment or a bond to guarantee the amount, New York would seize Trump-owned properties," according to the article published on March 28. "Much like Pilate tried to placate the mob by merely beating Jesus nearly to death, the judge 'relented' by lowering the bond required to a paltry $175 million and gave Trump an additional 10 days to secure it."

Conservative Army Iraq War Veteran Peter Henlein flagged the share by the ex-president. "Trump just shared an article comparing his plight to that of Jesus," Henlein wrote before quoting the name of the piece. "That's insane." Henlein goes on to suggest that Christians shouldn't vote for Trump over President Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election later this year. "But please, go on about how Christians must vote for this guy," he wrote on Saturday.

Trump, having never read nor studied the Bible has no concept of this doctrine. He ignorantly sees Jesus as a leader rather than a teacher, so in that vein he sees (or wants his followers to believe) that he persecuted rather than actually being prosecuted for his crimes.

Where Peter O'Toole, playing an upper class nut who thinks he's Jesus, is hanging out on his cross on his study. It comes to mind now as being ripe for photoshopping.

Editing to add, there's a scene in The Ref, where Lloyd Chausser finally has had it with his evil mother, and as he smashes the Christmas tree with a golf club (maybe it was a fireplace poker?), he yells that next year he's going to give her a giant cross that she can drag around everywhere, so every time she feels abused she can just climb up on it. Part of that could make a wonderful voiceover.

I'm feeling really vicious this morning. I have had a stressful week.

It's unbelievable that we're watching this unfold. His brain is working at 100 mph as he tries desperately one gambit after another to save himself — the continuing efforts to delay, delay, delay the trials, his social media threats of judges and court personnel, the posting of the bound and gagged Joe Biden photo, the bloodbath threat, the judge's daughter's photo — it's all absolutely depraved, insane and desperate, not to mention the violating of the judge's gag order.

This will be a film at some point and the phrase "stranger than fiction" applies. It will be wild, as the monster himself once said.

He's actually a deranged monster. It won't end well and there probably will be blood.

I try to imagine how on earth they will make this into a film (or more likely a miniseries).

I agree, it won't end well, but it WILL end.

I think a lot of us hoped he would disappear from public view a lot sooner.

Of course, this is more about his supporters than it is about him. The fact that so many could be fooled by a really bad con artist is truly disturbing and I suppose there was always a problem in our country that needed to be addressed. Trump unwittingly brought the disease to the surface. If it hadn't been Trump, it would have eventually been someone else.

He will go away, but shit, they will still be with us!

I know because I live about 500 yards from his church and I see the motorcade Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. He doesn’t make a big deal about it, he just quietly goes to church and goes on home. The motorcade has a very small footprint in Delaware.

The fact that they don't shows that evangelical "Christianity" has nothing to do with theology, but that it's become a political movement that you dare not criticize because they call it religion.

Sun Mar 31, 2024, 12:16 PM

"Sir, the work you do is simply incredible. So beautiful and incredible. And you're such an amazing golfer as well. World class champion golfer. The best. Maybe the best golfer there's ever been. My work here is done. But I want you to carry on.

First I want you to defraud millions. Banks, customers, employees, partners, suppliers, lawyers, everyone. I want you to create new businesses to defraud even more people, grift the money out and bankrupt them. Never ever get your finances audited. Lie about the value of your properties, more to lenders, less to tax assessors. Whatever you do, make sure you make less than passive investing would have made, but claim you're a billionaire anyway.

Then I want you to marry, cheat, divorce, marry, cheat, divorce, marry, cheat, and you get the idea. Molest, assault, abuse, and rape a few dozen women at least. Then make them sign non-disclosure agreements. Pay them off or threaten them, or hey, maybe both, up to you. And if any of them speaks out, just lie, insult, and defame them. Again and again and again.

Then know that we are all god's children but only if you're a pink-skinned, straight, male, English-speaking American, conservative without any physical disabilities and with the appearance of having hundreds of millions of dollars in assets regardless of debts. Exceptions made only for orange skin and foreign dictators, especially if Russian.

Then I want you demand thousands more NDAs while accusing others of not being transparent. Claim to be a successful businessman but refuse to get an audit or release your taxes. Accuse others of being national security risks then steal national security secrets and store them poorly. In fact, just blurt some of them out and share them with anyone who happens to be around you.

Then I want you to corrupt Democratic institutions and try to overthrow the government.

They shall know me through you and they shall know you are good by all the evil you do."

That's not me saying that, that was jesus, these gods, they love me. What can I say, they just love me. And who can blame them.

And I love real Americans and I'll know who the real Americans are because they're the ones who will buy a bible from me for only $59.99. And remember, god loves you based on his many bibles you buy so be sure to stock up! And speaking of stocks, buy my stock! What have you got to lose!

millions of other people to live through our lives with this guy. How is it he is not gone out of our way and out of our worries? He is obviously insane and not getting any better. The lawn episode when he raised his hands up and compared himself with God should have required intense psychiatric work and medical evaluation. That was so long ago and it escalates every year. He is not just some wacko. He was then and I guess he has a chance again to be the leader of our country. I cannot be convinced that there are not enough people to stop this, even among his voters there has to be some push to get rid of this wacko.

He is sick, terribly mentally ill and they are going to let him run for office? If Joe Biden said half of what he has said he would have been evaluated and probably pushed aside.

Jeeze Louise, it makes you want Santorum back. These supporters of tfg have lived a long time getting used to crazy people in leadership, this looks like end game.

But seriously, how can it not be so obviously needed and so important that the looney van isn't parked outside of every building he is in?
