I’m not a Christian and I know at least a couple of versions. Obviously he never went to church or Sunday school as a kid. It should be really embarrassing for the MAGATs but I doubt if even 25 are appalled by this.

How on earth did he ever get through even one year without having to recite it forever. On the other hand maybe Norman Vincent Peale didn’t do that kind of thing. Don’t know. But both the Congregationalist and the Unitarians as well as the camp chaplains/church services did. Must be I lived in a different universe than trump. Still wish I did.

I don't remember "learning" it; I think I must have just absorbed it from hearing it and then saying it all those times in church.

If I'm ever in a Catholic Church (which I haven't been since my fil's funeral over 20 years ago), I always have to remind myself to stop after "Deliver us from evil." I forgot a couple of times, and it was embarrassing.

I don't know why Catholics don't include "for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever." That was always my favorite part, as a kid. Ah, childhood memories.

I wouldn't bet money on him attending more than half the classes.

Cub Scouts and Cathechism classes are where I first learned about 'participation' awards.

Mainly because I was the kid who was there all the time and did all the work, but that really wasn't necessary to be there on picture day.

He should at least be able to recite The Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles’ Creed, Psalm 23, and possibly parts of The Westminster Catechism.

The Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles’ Creed, Psalm 100, and Psalm 23. And did I mention that I was in fourth grade at the time?
