'Bring your toothbrush': Ex-judge puts Trump on notice that he will 'sit in a jail cell'

A former judge has a warning for Donald Trump: bring your toothbrush, because a jail cell is in your future. Retired California Superior Court Judge LaDoris Hazzard Cordell, during an appearance on CNN on Sunday, was asked about Trump's recent decision to attack the family of the judge in the former president's criminal case. In one instance, Trump posted multiple photos of the judge's daughter.

During her interview, Cordell said Trump, "just like a child, has to be told what he cannot do no matter how obvious like, you don't threaten people, you don't threaten judges, you don't threaten family members."

"So Judge Merchan I believe should immediately expand the gag order to include himself and his family members and include D.A. Bragg and his family members," she said. "I tell you I fail to understand why judges do not include themselves and their family members in these gag orders. They haven't done so. Their lives and the lives of their families have been subjected to death threats, all because of Donald Trump's words, and that kind of speech is not protected by the First Amendment."

The host then asks her what happens "when" Trump breaks the gag order. "When and not if, I think you're right, Omar, when he steps across that gag order line, and I do hope it will be expanded," she said she has "only one response: bring your toothbrush, Donald Trump, because you're going to sit in a jail cell for a while."

I posted in another thread that dump hasn't changed since he was 13 and his parents sent the brat off to military school. They couldn't deal with him so he spent five years in an authoritarian environment but that didn't change what he is at his core. These gag orders or judicial admonitions that don't carry any punishment when violated not only don't work but serve to encourage more of the same. And that's what we're seeing again today.

Donald Trump is going to violate any gag order you put on him. Period.

Confinement is currently the only option they've got left.

I understand their reticence to actually put him in a jail cell because we're talking about a security nightmare. I mean, YEAH once he's convicted they can ship him straight to ADX Florence, which is equipped for extreme-security cases. No county jail is equipped to deal with the bastard, so...rent a shipping container house and set it on Rikers Island.

I think they're giving Trump room to maneuver because they're still investigating. Don't forget, they don't know beans, or not enough, about the bomber. They have said they're closer than before, but ... do you see any arrest? No. So they're just feeding paranoia into whoever it is hoping it will result in surrender. Or that someone else, some accomplice or controller, will make contact.

Helps to read the article.

Your assertion that you know how this particular judge would react is presumptuous, at best.

Sure it feels good, but CNN might as well interview your average Democrat on the street rather than someone who used to be on the bench.

Assume nothing.
Remind TSF that Gag does not mean "a joke ... forming part of a comedian's act"
Gag Order does not refer to "a trick played on someone ... to entertain other people"

It means "shut your damn pie-hole."

Geez. How specific do you have to get?

do anything but make empty threats. They are afraid to piss off the MAGAs, after J6 they think
there won't be another J6 if Trump loses the election. How did Trump get his fine reduced from over
$400 million cut by more than 1/2? He will appeal that and it will be reduced even more may be to zero.
