Feeling empowered in FL

I was chatting with my irrigation guy - pleasant guy in his late 30’s I would guess and a native Floridian - we were discussing how payments were made back in the day pre-credit cards, etc. I said my first credit card was Sears and “did you know that prior to 1974 a woman had to have permission from a male relative to have a credit card?” I said if they keep rolling back my rights I will have to have my grown son vouch for me -haha. He stopped and said I did not know that. And then the conversation went onto something else.
Anyway, I was pretty proud of myself for dropping a little fact about women’s rights for him to consider without getting all preachy as I tend to do. I also have a hard time keeping my temper in check when discussing any political issues.
Going forward, I will attempt to educate instead of rant. 🙄😂
And yes I assume most everyone down here is a right winger.

She fought for her right to vote and then taught her granddaughter well!

My grandmother was a strong advocate for women being educated.
She insisted her two daughters go on to nurse's training so they could be self sufficient.
And then my mother insisted her daughters go on for college degrees.

Yes our grandmothers did well.

$500 limit credit card. Never mind that I was the one taking care of the money in the household for 22 years! Educate the kids is THE KEY! Good for you.
