Biden's opened over 100 campaign offices. Trump? Seems like zero

Donald Trump's campaign is quite literally nowhere to be seen in the critical swing states that will decide the election this fall.
As Joe Biden builds out campaign infrastructure in key battleground states, report after report shows that Trump's effort is invisible.
Take Michigan, for example. Biden reclaimed the state by a small 3-point margin in 2020 after Trump flipped it by less than a point four years earlier. Its 15 electoral votes will once again be up for grabs this year, which is why Biden's team just announced plans to open 30 offices throughout the state by mid-April, including in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Marquette.
So where's Trump? When the Detroit News' Greg Mauger asked the Trump campaign to confirm Democrats' claim that the GOP's presumptive nominee had "yet to open a single campaign office" in the state, a spokesperson, Chris LaCivita, sputtered about polling and insisted he wouldn't "shar[e] our strategy with Democrats through the media."
A more honest take came from state GOP chair Pete Hoekstra, who admitted to the Associated Press' Steve Peoples that the Republican presence in Michigan was a "skeleton."

(2,484 posts)This thing is over. Netanyahu will ethnically cleanse Gaza before the election and it will all be over by the time Trump is inaugurated. Biden will be blamed. Then Trump will say he created peace. Bibi will rule another decade or so.
This is all over.

(10,412 posts)I cannot imagine the right wing of any religious entity actually being pious. They're blinded by hatred of their opposition. No such thing as "my honorable opponent" in their lexicon.
Democracy had better rise here and in Israel Pronto.

(597 posts)For starters, the people who watch cable news, especially FOX News, are certain to vote in November no matter what. But they're also a very small percentage of the population. This place LOVES to conflate the amount of people who watch cable news. Maybe it's because this site's user base largely trends older but not even a sliver of the country watches FOX News.
You still need a field organization to get out the vote. Believe it or not, Trump actually had a decent one in 2020, with minority outreach centers in key swing states. It helped. The Republicans were very good at getting voters registered, especially in Pennsylvania where they actually out-registered Democrats in the state.
That campaign infrastructure is gone. The local GOP in many of these states have been decimated since 2020 and especially since 2016.
That will have an impact because again, most voters aren't watching cable news.
Remember this: only 1.4 million people watch FOX News daily.
That's it.

(23,186 posts)he'll say on Nov 4th, the day before that he won, and as far as he's concerned, it's a done deal. He'll spend the rest of his miserable days blathering that the election was rigged, and suing anybody or anything that crosses him.
But for the rest of us, there is an election to work on and people who are involved to make sure it is inclusive, honest and fair.

(7,395 posts)Michigan and Wisconsin
2016 - Michigan Governor Rick Snyder
2016 - Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker
He barely won those states, barely won PA (0.6 points), barely won AZ (3.5 points), and got GA by 5 points.
Then 2020 happened. Michigan and Wisconsin got Democratic Governors, and Dumpy lost those states plus PA, AZ, and GA.
When Biden wins those states again, and potentially (possibly) adds Texas, Florida, and North Carolina to the blue column, Dumpy's electoral total may end up being smaller than his hands.
Biden lost North Carolina in 2020 by only 1.5 points. It is within reach.
Biden lost Florida in 2020 by 3.5 points. It too is within reach, within most MoE. DeSansdick has been really helping the Democrats with his crap over the past two years. His LOSING battles with Disney and Dumpy are now legendary. Not even his white booties will help now.
Biden lost Texas in 2020 by slightly more than 5 points, but it has been growing bluer since, and Abbott's shenanigans haven't helped the GOPpies at all nationwide.
Dumpy lost the 2020 popular vote by 7 million. I wouldn't be surprised if it winds up being double digit millions (10+ million) this year.

(22,230 posts)But I wonder how much ground infrastructure he had in 2016 and 2020.
Nevertheless, he's a long shot regardless of recent national polling. Dems control the voting apparatus in the key Midwestern states, MI and WI, along with PA. He can't 180 on the singular issue of our time, reproductive rights, without royally pissing off a chunk of his base. Biden is flush with cash to flood the airwaves and the ground between now and Nov. And all the litigation are ticking timebombs. I wouldn't want to be him.
