"No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House," No Labels CEO and co-founder Nancy Jacobson said in a statement. "No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down."
Jacobson said the group will "remain engaged over the next year during what is likely to be the most divisive presidential election of our lifetimes. We will promote dialogue around major policy challenges and call out both sides when they speak and act in bad faith."

(4,552 posts)So far, it's been a matter of his taking a position or making a statement on an issue and having to walk it back because of the backlash.
His campaign lacks a candidate who has good working knowledge of the nation's problems who can intelligently articulate solutions and convince people to vote for him because he can make government work. He is neither intelligent nor articulate, doesn't know the real problems and can't talk.
If he's got a following somewhere, it's well hidden.

(1,386 posts)become a Kennedy follower. He likes Kennedy's anti-vax positon. Neither he nor his partner have had any covid vaccinations, believing the flu they had in November 2019 was covid-related and that they are now immune from covid. His biggest stated reason for not supporting President Biden is because Biden tried to suppress freedom of speech thereby violating the Constitution.

(69,919 posts)it is because third parties split the vote and get leaders like conservatives in the UK, fascists in Italy (Mussolini's granddaughter is in the now fascist government), and Macron in France who recently raised the retirement age against what voters wanted. There are others too like Netanyahu. But you get the point. Unless you want to live under minority rule which favors the right and the fascists, have nothing to do with third parties. It never ends well for liberals or even centrists.

No Labels, the bipartisan group that had been working toward putting a third-party presidential ticket on the ballot in all 50 states in 2024, announced Thursday that it was ending its efforts. No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House, No Labels CEO and co-founder Nancy Jacobson said in a statement. No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down.
The operation failed for a variety of reasons. No Labels, for example, didnt have a platform, and no one inside the group or out could explain what it intended to do in the event that it succeeded. It didnt help when prominent officials within the operation resigned, and former Sen. Joe Lieberman arguably No Labels most high-profile champion died unexpectedly.
But most important is the fact that no one actually wanted to appear on the groups 2024 ticket. NBC News recently reported:
Among the Republicans who have said no after approaches from the group: former Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, according to public statements and sources familiar with their responses. ... On the Democratic side, Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick declined No Labels entreaties, as did Democratic-turned-independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona. The group also engaged with former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
.....I dont know how many more times this idea will have to fail before folks stop trying, but the three-strikes-and-youre-out rule really ought to apply.

(6,526 posts)Most notable was Teddy Roosevelt, who got 27% and 2nd place in the 1912 election.
https://www.history.com/news/third-party-candidates-election-influence-facts
Teddy Roosevelt was a former 2 term President, and very popular, but he still lost.
The only possibility I see would be if no one took enough electoral votes to win, and the House got to choose. Even then, the possibility would be incredibly poor for a third party candidate to get enough votes.
