They were discussing where to go for dinner just before Ray fired the shot. It was around 6pm, not early in the morning.
As socially conscious as they were, I thought they would have known that.

That I didn't appreciate at the time, but do now. I was a heavy metal guy at the time

Anyway, I remember reading a snippet of Bono getting death threats from this song. Fucking losers can't handle love or dignity of a human. If it's slightly different... kill it.

Updating this post: Apparently during this performance Bono was wary of a shot?
