I do believe that there are things that happen that are beyond our small minds.
I do recall the last big eclipse that crossed America in 2017. It came on shore in Washington state and departed somewhere near Charleston, SC. Trump had only been in office a few months, but long enough to know that he was going to be a disaster.
Now, seven years later, there is another eclipse that crosses the path of the previous one, somewhere near the Paducah, KY area.
We did have weather disasters after the last eclipse. We had Houston flooded from a Hurricane and then almost immediately afterward, we had Puerto Rico and Cuba torn apart by hurricanes. There is no proof there was a connection, but it happened nonetheless.
People can interpret these "signs" anyway they wish, I suppose?
I prefer to see the beginning and the end of a 7-year scourge called Trump. I think the eclipse will signal the end of Trump and evil he brought to this country.

(12,693 posts)in fact predicted for hundreds of years in advance. So we know when a sign is coming. Amazing that medieval beliefs are returning as GOP talking points.

(37,552 posts)Trump's Christians/evangelicals recognize that Trump was sent by God as a blessing.
Christians of faith recognize that Trump was sent by God as a curse.

(111,242 posts)True Christians understand that "seven" is also a Biblical number. And if you subtract the time Trump has spent on the golf course, it has been exactly "seven" years since the curse began.

(33,978 posts)doesn't mean there is an entity controlling the entire Universe. It means we don't know. There is little to no evidence of any supernatural power, and the more we find out, the less reason to believe in one. There are things we don't know, but we have never found the explanation for anything we have figured out to be God. Talk to an astro-physicist, they will tell you how much we don't know, but they won't tell you the answer is God.
We don't know=God is a bad axiom. We don't know=We don't know.

(9,238 posts)It's an evolutionary advantage. So we relate things together instinctively, even if they don't necessarily go together.
Hence why during empirical study of any phenomena "Correlation does not imply causation" has to be repeated a billion times. Often to little effect.

(3,453 posts)"Unconvinced by thousands of years of scientific inquiry, as well as driven by a general sense of apocalyptic bloodlust, many on the right are trading conspiracy theories about the upcoming eclipse, ranging from the belief that it signals the End Times to the idea that the Biden Administration is using it as an opportunity to shut down cell phone service or bring in the National Guard in an effort to make beautiful blond children who play sports transgender."
Dickson notes that the "onslaught of misinformation" about the March 8 eclipse "began" with Jones. In an April 2 post on X, formerly Twitter, the Infowars host wrote, "Major Events Surrounding The April 8th Solar Eclipse. Masonic rituals planned worldwide to usher in New World Order."
Another far-right conspiracy theorist who has been tweeting about the eclipse is Dom Lucre.
On April 2, Lucre posted, "There will be rituals performed during the April 8th Eclipse. Masonic, Satanic, Esoteric, Gnostic, Brotherhood of the Snake and other occult-like groups will be performing."

(6,349 posts)That's already a hot spot for Republican grandstanding. Might be interesting to see what happens in that area between now and the election.
The capitol of Austin is also in the total eclipse zone, as it travels in an arc all across Texas.
Should be some more interesting stuff goin' down in Texas regarding the state government, and immigration. Governor Abbott

There is no doubt that the Republicans will milk immigration as a "huge problem" right up to the election.

(3,374 posts)The 2017 eclipse occured on August 21st. That is just the beginning of peak hurricane season. To have hurricanes at that point is expected, not an exception.
I do believe in signs to a degree. However, the quake and eclipse are just natural phenomena and I don't see them as signs. Jersey has a fault line and experiences a couple of quakes each year. Solar eclipse happen 2 to 5 times per year.
I read some Q person quoted as saying the Eclipse will cause the COVID Vaccinations we all got, to turn to poison.
If its true and we know the Trumps all got the jab,
Lets hope the zombie apocalypse starts with them.

Warning: Donald Trump is NOT any kind of Messiah, or Anti-Christ, despite the desire of the ex-Republican Party to make him appear so to certain sections of his base. He simply isn't. He IS an adjudicated rapist, fraudster, mob boss, traitor, anti-American POS who will sooner (or later, depending on your point of view) become an incarcerated felon. Did I leave anything out?
Donald Trump is distracting us from tending to what should most concern us: climate change. There ARE signs of that, despite what they say.
A lot of warning signs of certain medical conditions or recessions etc . . . Do I believe in supernatural signs. Fuck no.
